I definitely made mention of you to separate you from lra2. You haven't posted multiple times in this thread alone bitching about various details and such, and like I said before you have been running Masters of Disaster, so sorry for putting you in the same boat.

I have to agree with Doot. People had a month and a half to make a bot and enter. Kurt has some benefit of the doubt as he has a tournament running which is a time-consuming process, lra2 has no excuse.
Ultimately it is Gulden's decision to make, but he should not have to accommodate for those who were more bothered about arguing about the tourney, than making an actual bot for it and not waiting until last minute to do so. 189
DSL TC Showcases / Re: DSC's IRL DSL showcase« on: August 31, 2017, 07:12:12 PM »Hot.... Maybe cold. Very nice, though would a heavy spike work better than a razor? At 799.1Kg, there's not enough weight for an Iron Spike. 191

Also, how hard or time-consuming is it really to edit a simple list once a tournament finished?2. Because of this, host scores have been removed.I don't see a reason to get rid of them, it's kinda cool to have the score leaderboard. 193

I am willing to run an IRL-style Beat the Clock/Sumo style event in conjunction with other events, although I personally think there would be enough room to support a IRL class in the normal competition.
I see no reason not to include Retooled and IF though. It gets people building in metas they may not usually build in, and helps make people more familiar with them. That was the case with myself, I returned last year shortly before signups opened, and those bots built for IF and Retooled were the first times I'd explored those metas. Also, I echo the sentiments that there needs to be more done with the previous championship to document them and preserve them. 195
Discussion / Re: Which bot are you most proud of?« on: August 19, 2017, 02:44:33 PM »![]() Could have posted Carbonize or it's SHW/UHW version and felt proud, but this was the biggest and best bot I made pre-IRL packs. 196
Off-Topic Discussion / Re: Re: Can we get a forum hierarchy? (Copypasta topic)« on: August 17, 2017, 03:28:42 PM »
The smugness of people trying to get a rise out of others is astonishing, trying to hide behind "oh it's abandonware, why do you care?" HB was contactable, had stated numerous times in the past that it wasn't to be shared, so people need to give up on the 'noble' "releasing it for the people" bullsh**. The simple fact is, Mr_AS leaked it because people here are greedy, malicious bastards who all had selfish reasons for wanting it. AS wanted to provoke reactions out of the creators, others wanted to get certain people in the sh** for giving them the means to obtain the leaked arenas and bots, and some used it for internet points for spamming it all over Facebook. These people certainly got what they wanted, and then refused to do anything about it, which is why I contacted ACAMS myself to get the file removed from the website. It's sneaky to leak it in the first place, it's malicious to upload it to a part of the site only the site admin could remove it from.
People have every right to argue about why something they created was released without their permission, people here need to get better ammo than "it's an old game lol why do you care so much?" It's the same reason why people still make bots, make TC packs or component packs, because they want to try and better the game and contribute to it, and 9/10 will just be met with either ungratefulness ("_____ parts when?") or get it thrown back in their faces and mocked for it later. 197
Discussion / Re: lets talk about walkers and shufflers« on: August 05, 2017, 09:28:40 AM »ok so from what i've gathered then, real life robot combat rules in the uk atm for robot wars (don't know what it is for battlebots as i live in the uk) dictate that the maximum weight limit for a wheeled or tracked bot is 110kg's and apparently mike franklin was going to enter anarchy in 2016 but couldn't as it had to be under 135kg's which means the shuffler weight limit is 135kg's RA2 and real life do not match up well as proven recently. In RA2 it's down to a tournament host's preference whether shufflers get a weight bonus, and how much that bonus is. Some will allow it and others will not, most that do give a weight bonus stipulate that most of it MUST be spent on the shuffling system, to avoid people coming up with a weak system in order to pile on more weapons. 198

Can we get the OP updated to show who has been accepted or not? It's not been updated in almost a month, and with the signups closing in 2 days it's not a lot of time for people to see if there's anything they need to fix with their bots, or even if their bots were received.

I guess making challenges on the Discord doesn't count, so I hereby challenge Avalanche to a DSL HW match. Not sure what rules were agreed on but I heard IRL mentioned, naturally.

WIP idea - Currently known as "Pontoon" Wedges. 1 solid piece, will grow to include a lot more wedge sizes, and include filler pieces. Fulfill your Dantomkia wishes.
![]() 20cm armor plates. May have some limited use on larger bots, hopefully will be useful for AW/BW and even LW bots. Plates, triangles, wedge edge and corners. ![]() |
