I'm going to throw my hat into the ring and enter the DSL2.2 IRL representing Sweden <3 Would pick Ireland but it seems like a highly claimed country.
If you're a native member of Ireland you get priority, remember.

As we're in signups now, I'll reserve GB. If it has to be for a specific meta, I'll take DSL IRL GB.
Doot got there before you via discord, bad luck (Image removed from quote.)
I'll take England then.
That's >not a country
Pick from here: http://www.wrestling-titles.com/countrycodes.html
I think it's kinda dumb you can only pick from those when England, Scotland, N-Ireland etc are all legit countries in their own right, but in that case i'll represent Greece.

If my laptop wasn't broken I would have been able to make my bot a perfectly german flag
You can still claim Germany, and have a old robot reskinned by somebody else.

I'll apply for England if you can seperate the GB countries out, and GB if otherwise.

Dibs Scotland as a native.
Part of Great Britain, you're gonna be in a race for GB
I think you should separate Great Britain out into the separate countries, at least then we can get a slightly better representation other than Britain, USA, A few minorities and then a bunch of ersatz representatives.

Instead of castors place a 30 degree angle extender and some wedgelets so you can get your opponent to go into the weapon.

Got to give a shout out to Demon and the whole community for this tournament. I was super hesitant to jump back into the game after I spent so much time working on my last project (a glorious giant beater-bar hammer) and then accidentally deleted it. </3
However, watching these fights and seeing so many fun designs is inspiring af.
A few thoughts:
-It was really nice to see both Cling and Ashtray get wins. Both are designs I respected and appreciated, but I honestly didn't expect that out of them at all.
-Vanilla Ice seemed at first like it could be a viable counter to Raus, and Raus still managed to walk away with a big win. I feel like that says pretty good things about it going forward. (PREPARE YOURSELVES)
-I'll make my thoughts on Anti-Grav as brief as possible. I dig the Anti-Grav series. (Thanks!) It was one of the first GTM bots I checked out. (On one hand, it's nice to be recognised. On the other hand: y tho) I always appreciate Avalanche's bluntness here and on the BB subreddit. ( But it wasn't just the arena that caused this result. The fact is, Anti-Grav could have easily taken a judge's decision if it had just lasted the whole 3 minutes. (Tell me about it.) If you have no idea where the tournament will be held ahead of time, it seems advisable to make sure you're prepared for any scenario possible. (Considering I had no idea the RG arena existed in RA2, getting stuck on THE WALL is near impossible to prepare for and recognise that i'd get stuck on that specific angle from the wall) That includes giving your robot enough battery power to sustain the entire length of the fight. (That's not what happened) It's an incredible risk to take, leaving a robot with less battery life; and in this case, it cost Avalanche a win. (That's not what happened)

Can we just disqualify the two of them?
Funny, I was thinking the same for you for your rudeness towards the tournament host/other participants in the tournament.
Anyhoo. Surprised that Hornhead won, was close (and boring) and I'm kinda sad that Minmi didn't win! One more hit and my bot would be out. I've said before that Hornhead isn't good and I'm watching the AWs closely to learn from them so I can improve my build quality for the small bots. Knock me all you want for a bad bot but don't knock me for wanting to improve.
A: Was joking. B: Oh, I highly appreciate the tournament host doing a tournament of this magnitude. Doesn't mean I have to like the events of the tournament or how some of the rules are laid out. C: Be advised that mods will be issuing mutes without warning from now on.
Stop sh**ting this thread up. That is all.

Well. Seeing as Thyrus basically confirmed the result of the fight, guess I don't need to bother with spoiler tags.
On one hand, I'm impressed with the durability of my robot. On the other hand, i'm disappointed I won via the WALL. Oh well.
Panzer Strike Mk. II can't selfright because of how heavy the robot is, so if I come up against a flipper I will insta-lose. Also, I'm up against Super CarboniZe next, so that's probably going to go poorly as well.

Had this been any other arena I'd have won that fight. Neon, you got lucky, and you know it: regardless, I wish you the best for the tournament. Between this and the config setup (which has been discussed in the discord already so let's not discuss it here) I'm starting to dislike how this tournament's headed: hopefully Fighter Mk. II can resolve my fears a bit.
I don't like this arena. It heavily neuters flippers by preventing them from getting OOTA's because they will likely fling the opponent off the outside wall and back in or onto the wall where they can drive off. That said, it also doesn't stop paladin-levels of power from being used to completely dominate the fight. Bruiser Whale (or whatever it's called) did the same thing to Kurt's hammer and just obliterated it by flipping it over and over without giving it a chance to fight back.
It really just hassles the fair flippers while leaving OP flippers OP: sure you can try and outwedge them but that just means it becomes a skirt-hinge wedge-fest, something that the forum has an issue with on robots like Raus. It's just not good for the meta.
>is a guy that entered only flippers. >isn't complaining about reduced OOTA potential because respects that the host choose it. >confused because can only see this as a guy complaining because he's losing battles
Hey door just wanted to thank you again for even running this excruciatingly long tourney, let alone in such a timely manner. You da bomb.
Yes thanks doot for putting your time into making this for us to enjoy. Even if some people are ungrateful for what you're doing.
>Only flippers Revenge of Smart Box: SNS/Rammer. Krieg Mk. II: Flipper. Raus Mk. III: VS. Anti Gravity Mk. IV: Flipper. Fighter Mk. II: HS. Panzer Strike Mk. II: Hammer. You are factually wrong. Another issue with the arena is that you can lose by gettin stuck on and even under the wall like what happened to Burns When I Pee. Had this been any other arena I'd have won that fight. Neon, you got lucky, and you know it: regardless, I wish you the best for the tournament. Wait, so you're telling me that you have foresaw every other alternative reality where your fight took place in a different arena and you won each one?! WOW! You can't say for sure that you'd win in any other arena. ANYTHING can happen in these battles as we have seen already. Get over yourself.
"Get over yourself.": Did you even see my fight? I got under Prince Duck repeatedly, was throwing him around and if it wasn't for the choice of arena would have had him out of it. You even say that "Anything can happen": that is a classic way of saying "random luck can change the course of the match" and effectively means you yourself see what I mean: it was terrible luck (and the choice of arena) that cost me the match. Frankly, I was wiping the floor with NC. Like it or not, I would have won the match in any other (logical) arena: hell, even in a enclosed arena I'd have beaten him! Bruiser Whale (or whatever it's called) did the same thing to Kurt's hammer and just obliterated it by flipping it over and over without giving it a chance to fight back.
Yeah, I really hate how the better robot wins the fight, it's just so unfair. /s
Get over yourself, seriously.
For an arena meant to limit the effectiveness of flippers, it isn't doing the job in a fair way. But even disregarding everything i said about flippers, the arena is still a pile of sh** that eliminates perfectly fine robots, even those that were dominating the fight. The fact robots can get stuck under the wall is just plain bad. EDIT: Hey door just wanted to thank you again for even running this excruciatingly long tourney, let alone in such a timely manner. You da bomb.
Despite my numerous grievances, I have to agree.

You never stop to complain hum? :D An Arena that would weaken the efficiency of Paladin is something you don't like.
Actually, this arena favours weaker flippers, Paladin-style launchers are more likely to make the other bot bounce off the outer wall and back into the arena. But let's not make this all about Paladin AGAIN.
Worried about the hitbox for my CW's disc, hopefully that was a weird 1-off fight.
Paladin-style flippers are still incredibly strong, while regular flippers find it more difficult.

You can fit more parts in the weight limit.
............and???
we're not fighting them, we're just making the coolest robot since when is the coolest robot always the heavier one
Not like that matters because all that matters is your building skill.
I'm fully aware.

Seeing as the RA2 wiki is unable to be edited at all now, should we create a replacement for it using Wikia? Wikia works pretty well (though it sadly has advertisements, but hey, that's what Adblock is for) for other robot combat wikis: the Battlebots wiki and Robot Wars wiki's both use it, with the Robot Wars wiki in particular being very, very well done aesthetically. While this isn't exactly an urgent requirement as all the old pages are there, the RA2 Wiki will rapidly become obsolete as we cannot update it with new edits. If we get going with a replacement now, the new wiki will be in a good state before the ra2 wiki becomes obsolete and needs replacing.

So it's unfixable?
Effectively, the RA2 Wiki is dead. I'm thinking of making a RA2 Wikia so we can have a current source of information to replace it (until the admins find the time/return to fix it), but it'll be a hell of a lot of work. I'll make a second thread in which we can discuss it.
