Combat robots from now on should have mandatory rimz

You mean human-controllable melty? Looks weird but I can see where you're coming from, that said human-controllable melty might prefer symmetric drive.

At this point you should just let the AI do the melty so component usage is maximized.

U mean this Asbestosstar? I mean I typed this into command prompt and it said it wasn't recognised. Mr.AS, when I uncheck read only it doesn't actually stop being read only, and RA2 is not in my programs folder.

lolno that is not a windows command (and please, don't use that in linux if you don't know what you're doing)

I mean with you have a ton of complications at this point, you're much better off redownloading/reextracting the game.

holy sh** finding that stack took a while

And both are equally garbage against bots with HPZ drive. RAD drive means it takes a while for it to spin alongside the motors so taking a light bump just pretty much sends it tumbling, but I guess that's part of its tactics.

witness 8 years of stock building struggling to translate to dsl 2.2 irl

Finally got the wheelguards properly emphasized, and ditched the whole exposed chassis thing because I'm too lazy to skin the internals in. Had to downgrade to Pl1 due to the large chassis though.

Completely reworked this thing with a Trov'd chassis, but I don't have enough time to figure out the right sequence and placement to get the sides point inwards instead of outwards. Also couldn't figure out the cleanest way to build a spade wedge, so I went with the other fork wedge Team Dark Forces used. Mag drive and Ti3 I think?

reference pictures:

tbh i'm not sure if a dual mag is strong enough for what i want but it does look better on the hs than a perm 132

or maybe i'll just cover the whole top

my god i havent touched dsl in 4 years

and this is my first time using ra2cf as well

help

Tentative LvD2 entrants, a.k.a. Team Dark Forces clones. I really wanted that spade-type wedge, but I can't pull it off effectively with these components even with CF.

Dark Blade the bar spinner has a Moros bar on a Perm 132, a black batt and an ant, and astros for drive. This one just needs some skinning and maybe a redo of the rear stabilizer before I send it out. And it looks ugly with the paper-thin chassis so I might BFE it back up.

Dark Pummeler the VS has 4 Buster teeth (I think) on a Perm 80, a black batt and 2 ants, and slims for drive. It looks so far from the original that I might have to redo the whole design. I want to rework the spade and maybe just use a Trov'd wedge chassis, but I might be too lazy to think how to properly tackle this.

just go torgue and spam some flamerthrowers and hammers

The color scheme is kinda bland for Maliwan, but I'm digging the shell spinner.

Wire your srimech to be just either the piston or the burst. That might help. And maybe have the hammer start a bit further back?

As in the cannon component? Or can it be a stack of drums resembling a cannon?

My chassis isn't tall enough for the anchor to be placed above the RAD, and I don't think it's possible for an anchor to be marginally stacked into the black and halfway stacked into the RAD.

But yeah, the plan is to use 2 20 cms instead of a T, but so far I can't find the right spot to stack the anchor in.

i am an idiot because i have almost forgotten how torque works

So yeah, embarrassing mistake aside, I turned around the drive for Halftone so it could be a nice Scrubber replacement:

And I'm not sure if Scrap sent his Bucket of Nails rebuild to Starcore or not, but the radial asymmetry of the original and the rebuild irritates me. So I made this:

With a lot of weight left, I figured I could downgrade to plastic and Z-Teks then go all irons:

Unfortunately, I am off by 0.5 kg. I'm still looking for the proper off-center anchor stack so everything's all symmetric (and 1 kg lighter) but that's gonna take a while.

And from what I have seen many 36HS have no bonuses like invertible (needed grannies vs shinies to pull that off), belly caster armor and/or front plow or ramplates.
Starcore

Actually pretty much all of the 36HS should be invertible (or at least somewhat controllable while inverted). But yeah, the rest are advantages you could get when dropping a motor from the setup. Looks sweet.

Try making the chassis longer and just attach the drive through 2 anchors at the bottom of the bot. I'm not quite sure if your bot will be lighter as a result.

What will help though is angling the horizontal extenders holding the plows a tick or two forward. If you're too lazy to rebuild the chassis, try swapping the positions of the tanks and the anchors, and attaching your stuff from there like 09's Rimpblade:

> tfw the motivation to build returns just after being employed

Speaking of rebuilds, some bots in ReStocked would love to have the 140cm update. I'm not quite sure if any other of my bots in the pack needed an update, but only Raptor came to mind.

Rule of 7 really restricted the advantage it could get from 140 cms, so I just upgraded the hammer ballast and axe rack.

For setup and comparison -  it used to look like this:

Also I think Geice already made a decent T-400 rebuild so I guess I'll try out Acrid soon.

Post some clear shots of your extender work. I reckon there's 10-12 kg that can be shaved off from there but I'm not quite sure if it's worth downgrading to plastic for an extra set of plows.

Just linking this here in case inspiration is lacking or something. I was checking out S_M's review of the bots and looked for Scrap's Ultraviolet rebuild.

took another crack at the t400 rebuild

I think this type of bot is meant to have a large chassis. But I'm too lazy to rethink the whole thing so I just went on with this tiny T-chassis.

Weapons are slightly angled and it has worked out quite well for de-wheeling and stuff. Wedge is still kinda terrible, and steering's a bit twitchy, so there's still tons of room for improvement.

Also, I had space left on the chassis so I tacked on 2 razors. No idea what I could do with ~35 kg assuming I went with a simple long wedge instead of a T-chassis. Maybe 2 plows coming out from the middle?
