With the new track sizes, that would make tank tracks broken.

Perhaps, but tracks having less grip than a wheel is simply ridiculous. Unless I am being stupid, and grip only increases speed, which now that I think about it sounds pretty likely. Hmmm...

From looking, it seems- that would also mean that Caterpillar Tracks would be the slowest form of locomotion, even though you can get fast tracked robots.

Agreed. Hate to criticize you Click, but I really think treads should be the grippiest wheel choice, even if you a have to make them much heavier.

5.  No more 2.3 grip wheels.  Grip ranges from 0.8 - 1.2 (except for treads which have 0.6).

Wait... so treads have the least amount of grip?  :confused:

put the Axles before the HEX plates, saving 12KG, which should be enough to butch out the extenders and improve the chassis armour.

There actually is good rationale for putting more axles as opposed to less. I have noticed that the more independent axles you have, the better you are at absorbing damage from sledgehammers and similar weapons. The less axles you have (assuming you keep the same number of weapons), the more razors you will lose when fighting bots like Hammerhead Shark.

Improving the armor would be a waste of weight, as any bot that can get to a chassis that small will make mince meat out of it. You are better off with external armor or just more weapons.

Been working on a better version of my MW Flail SnS, and came up with this:





Quadrapus is an MW Flail SnS with 20 flail razors powered by two NPC Fasts with technos. The razors are attached to angled hexpates, which gives the weapons more coverage and makes it harder for the extenders to be hit. Quadrapus spins faster than Tripus, and has more weapons, so it's a win-win situation.

Any comments would be appreciated. :D

Pull off the razors pointing inward towards the chassis and other disks, and use the extra weight for a massive increase in drive (maybe 3-4 NPC Fasts with Technos). Use the remaining weight for more weapons facing outward.

One problem, mate. This is IRL, not efficiency building. These components look most like what you'd find on real life shell spinners, and so, that's what's best, right? I know the normals are a massive pain in the behind, but this isn't standard DSL building. R0b0 said it best, it's not for the purpose of battle.


Then what's the point? Most IRL Sheck Spinners looks ugly and boring, and when you try to build them using DSL components they become even more ugly and boring aesthetically. And then when you put on crappy weapons to further emulate IRL Sheck Spinners, you are left with an ugly, boring, and useless bot. How is that enjoyable to build or showcase? I know IRL building isn't about combat effectiveness, but Sheck Spinners- in real life or in game- are supposed to maximize destruction. When you rob Sheck Spinners of their ferocity, you have killed them...

This is good. My FSS will be able to go up your wedge, bounce off of the disk and tooth armor, and strike at the thin slice of bot exposed above the wedge.

You would be correct, assuming you managed to put all 9 of those razors of flails, which I doubt. And yes, I do use the 80 cm disk.

On the whole flipper thing, I personally don't see the big deal with outlawing flippers, simply because they are so rare and so useless. That being said, I also don't see any reason why they should be outlawed, seeing as you will probably only get one or two at most.

Start building Flail Shell Spinners. That should last you a couple years.  :mrgreen:

I would just start experimenting with different bot classes.
