You know you're too far into a relationship when your girlfriend refers to you as "minion". =P

It didn't always have the front lip on. But it flips over, just like the real thing. Bonus points for that. =D

It all started out with Stock Components. There's a really good Dreadnought replica pretty early on with only Stock components. But because of DSL's wider variety of components, there's a much wider variety of bots able to be built. I doubt I could have put together a Dead Metal replica as good as I did if I'd used Stock.

Because it is unbalanced and ghey. =P Although c3:++ used it pretty well, I thought.

Although history says I cannot get 3 BOTM's in a row. But I must do this to infuriate JoeBlo.

Paint.NET, and ingenuity. Lots of that.

I've won back-to-back BOTM's three times now, but I've never won three in a row. I really want to do that just to annoy JoeBlo.

Thanks to everyone who voted for me, though. =) I think these unrealistic DSL BOTM's are a good opportunity to go a bit nuts, and just see what you can come up with.

Fun Fact: The Case number in the splash is actually my Student ID number at the college I go to. =P

You do get 40cm wide DSL Bars, but they are a LOT heavier than skirts. Even the Steel ones. And they don't offer a great increas in HP, IIRC. Stick to skirt stabilisers, but I might try to get a poly extender holding the hammers instead of a titanium one. It's not as if it's going to be hit very often at all.

I concur. The French have given us a glorified pylon, bread that is too long, and that guy who took Ireland out of the World Cup with a handball. :gawe:

Thankfully you're improved a reasonable amount.

What I tend to do when I get overly annoyed about something is go to a different website. The internet equivelant of talking a walk around the block. Once I return, I'm normally callm enough to write a coherent explanation of my views, rather than a oddly pieced-together rant.

Plastic 10's a bit overkill if you ask me. I'd downgrade that to Plastic 5, or maybe Plastic 3 if that's not going too far the other way, and perhaps add some weapons on the ends of the skirt hinges to help against spinners, and prevent being flanked a bit more.

That's what really pisses me off about this sort of thing, people getting a far more lenient sentence than others for the same offense, for reasons which aren't relevent to the problem at all. Rules are RULES, not flexible guidelines, and apply to EVERYONE. No-one bar no-one should be above them.

I go by how many time they have been warned, if they have a long list, they get a longer warning.

I think that is fair .... don't you?

I would agree to that, yes. I'm not as up on the backstage politics as you are. There was that time when people got quite irate when inf used foul language in the main forum, and he was warned at 5% for all of about an hour or so.

I still think swearing's punished a bit in the extreme, though. Considering there are several worse offenses a member could be committing.

I wouldn't compare him to Sparkey, personally. And it's nice to see Naryar's usual slightly tyrannical sense of humour coming through.

While you're here, can I ask why swearing is treated so harshly in relation to other offenses? It just seems a bit overly prioritised to me.

I might stop it there, GF. But I agree that 65% warn for swearing is too far. Most members, I imagine are competent enough to not lace every post with a barrage of expletives. One instance in one post shouldn't warrant that level of warn at all. If someone was to go curse crazy, they could be warned accordingly. One rude word in one post, I feel, should be 10% at the absolute most. Granted that trolls, flame wars and such aren't as prevolent as it used to be, but that doesn't necessarily mean we can shift the main focus onto something much less important.

65% Warn for swearing? You've got to be kidding. What are their priorities again?

In all fairness, you did it twice, and their rules are rather strict about swearing anywhere other than Junkyard. If it's Junkyard, not a single **** is given, outside of Junkyard, you will be crushed with a fist of [enter material here], or in the case of Naryar, material is irrelevant, and the fist is 'MIGHTY'.
Overly, might I add. I could understand if it was concentrated only towards the actual RA2 sections, but in the Movies and Music bit? That had nothing to do with anything.

Hmm...true enough, considering what I think the system is at the moment (X% warn where X is dependent on the word said), it probably shouldn't be more than something like...25%-35% tops, I would think. Unless of course they are just trying to be as brutal as possible to stop people from doing it (maybe they got bored of how much it happened before, but that is just uneducated speculation on my part)...alternatively, it could be based on who issued the warn, but that is yet more speculation.

Then again, I have seen people swear outside of Junkyard (without stars) and get away with it before now, so I really don't know how they work. All I know is that the warning is fair the percentage could be seen as unfair dependent on who you are (and what you compare the offence(s) to), and you may be able to get it reduced through appeal, or it may just anger them into increasing it by 30% (or 34% if they are feeling particularly evil)...and that insulting them out of Playground may make him just increase the warn/ban you outright.

That's what really pisses me off about this sort of thing, people getting a far more lenient sentence than others for the same offense, for reasons which aren't relevent to the problem at all. Rules are RULES, not flexible guidelines, and apply to EVERYONE. No-one bar no-one should be above them.

I still don't think swearing should warrant such a high level of warn. There are MUCH worse things a member can do.
