Chatterbox / Re: Limited?« on: January 16, 2010, 06:35:35 PM »Questions end with a question mark in the English language. Sample 一: Who cares? Jeff, Really, I can't belive you are that blind. You've attacked me and others over and over and now you whine about me making a little joke?No whining was done on my part. Sparkles whined about me picking on you, when in reality, you're the one who brought the beef into this thread. When people attack me, they should expect a snarky response. Those who I've attacked have every right to strike back at me. By the way, really isn't a proper noun, so there's no need to capitalize it in the meat of the sentence sandwich. Are you that immature?I don't think immature describes me nor my actions on this board. Nice attempt at an insult, though. Seriously, about 80% of your posts are insults or arguments. Now, is that an average of 80% of each post being negative, or 80% of my total posts are negative posts? It's a very big difference, and I'd be interested to know. That's sad. If you're that insecure that you have to go around whacking people to raise your self-esteem, then cut it out.Insecure about what? Your high school grasp of psychology seems lacking. Sparky may be a n00b with grammar that's incorrect, but so what? It's not a big deal.I really hate that argument. What if Sparkles stated things that were historically inaccurate (Ex. Hitler was the dictator of Italy)? What if Sparkles made math errors? Language errors are just as important as any other errors, and if no attention is brought to them, how will the one committing the errors know that mistakes are being made? You may be fine with mediocrity, but I'm not. We have enough Jay Lenos in the world as it is. I've never really liked you that much but when you threw that tantrum about not being able to swear on the Alpha X topic for absolutley no reason whatsoever, that made me kinda ticked off.I explained my reasoning. You could not. Is that what makes you so angry? I'd take the biggest n00b on the planet over you.If you were Jeff Goldblum, I might actually care. As it stands, you're just some kid who doesn't question the arbitrary standards set forth by society, and happily promotes mediocrity. Have fun with Sparkles. I'm sure the two of you have much to talk about. You, S32, infinite, and Serge go out of your way to make other people feel bad, and that's not cool. At all. It doesn't make you seem tough, it makes you seem like a jerk. Why drag them into this? I'm positively certain that you are going to attack me with a comeback about me being "immature" or "an idiot", but I really don't care.Oh, come on. You know I'm far more creative than that. It will only further my point, and honestly it means nothing coming from someone as big of a hypocrit as yourself.Hypocrite? How so? You are equally entitled to do all of the things I do on here, and I've never stated otherwise. This post of yours, on the other hand, is much more hypocritical than anything I've ever done. You're calling out my bad behaviour by using similar bad behaviour, thus becoming the very thing you despise. If I am the only person in the whole world who doesn't swear, I won't start. I know I'm right.Nobody is saying that you should use words you don't want to use. I don't use the word guesstimate because I see it as being too lame to even use in an ironic way. My objection was to you forcing your unspecified disliking of certain words on others. When pressed for a reason why these words were worse than others of the same meaning, you couldn't come up with anything. Do you still not have a reason for why you find these words offensive, or are you still just doing whatever mommy and daddy say? If everyone on this forum starts attacking me for posting this, I won't care. It needed to be said.If you are too fragile to handle my posts, don't start sh**! I will respond, and I will continue to own you. 1771
Chatterbox / Re: Limited?« on: January 16, 2010, 01:53:47 PM »@frezalIndeed I do. I thought of an example using Spanish. "¿Como se llama?" It roughly translates to, "What is your name?" I learned that about 100 years ago. i really wish i never made this topic now...Since multiple grammar lessons exist, you would use are instead of is. As for the swearing and flame wars, I think you've got the wrong thread. Flames wars don't seem to be in this thread. The only "swearing" was when I said sh** and when Sparkles decided to drag crustaceans into this. Also, I want to remind you Sparkey, you have no excuse for making grammar mistakes. You are American, and English is your native tongue. Try to respect it, like I do as a foreigner.I always find it humorous when the Speak English or GTFO people fail at English themselves. Frezal, you really learned Japanase at HS? You lucky **ck.Yeah, but unfortunately, I don't remember enough to be conversant. I still remember the structure, though, so relearning the language would just be a matter of rebuilding my vocabulary. If you have the time, I suggest learning it. I may have just had a really good teacher, but it was a very easy language to learn. There are no plurals, and every sentence has the same basic structure. Oh, and to make questions out of sentences, no rephrasing is needed. You just add a か (ka) to the end. Sample I: なまえ は ジェッフ です。(namae wa Jeffu desu.--My name is Jeff.) なまえ は ジェッフ です か? (namae wa Jeffu desu ka?--Is my name Jeff?) 1772
Chatterbox / Re: Limited?« on: January 16, 2010, 03:11:33 AM »lol no I've never heard that word anyway lolInteresting use of lol. You used it like how punctuation is used in Spanish with the sentence beginning with an upside down version of the ending punctuation (save for periods). I would provide a example, but having taken Japanese in high school, I don't know enough about Spanish to do the language justice. 1773

Chatterbox / Re: Limited?« on: January 15, 2010, 06:41:31 PM »STOP BEING A KNOW IT ALL!!!!!!Now it's time for a quick lesson on apostrophe usage. Apostrophes are used to show possession (ownership) or to take the place of one or more letters/numbers. I will now provide you with two sample sentences showing each of the proper uses of apostrophes. Sample A: Reier was joking, for God's sake! Sample B: Way back in the '80s, Ronald Reagan couldn't get enough babies to consume. There's no cover charge for that one, but I will gladly direct you to a charity that could use your $10. http://www.redcross.org/en/donatemoney 1776

Chatterbox / Re: Limited?« on: January 15, 2010, 02:14:28 PM »YOU'RE THE ONE WHO STRTED IT!Reier attacked me (twice) when I gave you a lesson on grammar. If providing a snarky response somehow means I started any sort of scuffle in this thread, then I'm afraid I'm guilty as charged. Here's another grammar lesson: You used the wrong lets. The one you're looking for is let's. (Let's is a contraction for let us.) I will now provide you with two example sentences showing proper usage of each word. Ex. 1: Ash lets his Pikachu roam freely without a Pokeball or a leash. Ex. 2: Let's go report Ash to the cops for disobeying leash laws. That lesson was also free. 1778
