I disagree, in the latest MK game (MK 2011 or MK9) I find Kenshi and Ermac to be the best characters.
Haven't bought Kenshi and Ermac's pretty good.
Stryker has the best X Ray Move though.
I find it cheap when some characters X-ray moves have 3 sequences instead of 2 thus causing more damage.
Sonya has about 11 and does about 34 damage. Can't really remember, haven't played it since start of this month.

That was one of my other hopes.
FOTEPX said that they were selling Air Soft AK47's in his town. Good luck finding a weapon.

All I tend to use are Razors, sometimes Irons, and Hammers on design's that OOTA now. And Maces when I use the EFFE glitch.
