I increased the tick interval. apanx had it at like 1/1000 second, but the game can only count increments of 1/30 second, so it was lagging needlessly.

I re-uploaded Resentful Princess 2 vs. Missile Test; it should be working now.

Is this the first juggler/popup hybrid?
Regardless, it's a cool bot. Might be a bit too short though. Short bots tend to tip over backwards and have worse wedges.
And yeah, the bouncing is probably because of the maces, and because the spinners are on burst motors. Both of those things can cause bounciness.

I'm on a roll! Winner's bracket quarterfinals and loser's bracket round 6 are up! And we now have our final 8 bots. Final Z is the only first-round loser still in this. Actually it's amazing that there are ANY first-round losers still in this. Death of Angels 2 and AntonYYYm are both second-round losers, which is also impressive. And all three of these bots have the potential to go even further, I think. (Either AntonYYYm or Final Z will get at least 1 more win.) There are four veterans and four rookies among the final 8. The winner's bracket semifinal is also rookie Virus Bomb against veteran Pwnator. There are 3 flail HS's, 3 popups, 1 flipper, and 1 rammer in the final 8. I couldn't ask for a more even distribution. The championship is very much up in the air at this point.

I'm playing Professor Layton and the Diabolical Box, Mario & Luigi Bowser's Inside Story, and Pokemon Soul Silver right now. And I'm technically still playing Fire Emblem Radiant Dawn in that I intend to finish it someday (it's a long game). Mostly DS stuff. I find it hard to find time to play a lot of Wii or PC games (and even DS games go slowly). Looking forward to Super Scribblenauts and Golden Sun: Dark Dawn. Oh yeah, I almost forgot, I occasionally play RA2 too.

Tira from SC3
I am not aware of any bot called Tira in Starcore AI. Nor why one should feel attracted to it. But seriously guys, I am on the verge of locking this thread. Keep it clean. (If in doubt, don't post pics.)

All of the incarnations of Son of Whyachi after the original. Thread over.
@SKBT: whoa Cold Arbor is cool, I want to see that working properly...

Battlebots S5, what if The Matador didn't get stuck on the wall and ended up beating Warhead.

And you would need like 50 storm pistons to pick up a UHW. Funny bot there; I thought of doing the same thing (a good near-5000 kg bot paired with a really light distraction.)
A Flee Beetle strategy won't work in this tourney though... basically Flee Beetle was a one-trick pony special for Survival of the Fittest.

Fun Fact: The stock chassis were never rebalanced to the armors given to select, so if a stock robot has Plastic, its double strength plastic, then theirs double strength titanium and steel too.
...Which is still worse than any of the DSL armors.

Looks good. Battleshots?
More like, inside shots? The lack of armor may be an issue. It seems to me that popups with more concentrated, focused weapons like Seism 13 need more front armor to absorb hits while they line up shots, while popups with spread out razors like R4 and the original Surgical Strike don't need so much. They just slide under and kill stuff before HS's can do too much damage. However, that's just a theory.

I like the recipe splash. I thought of my previous BOTM entry Recipe for Disaster when I saw that.
Is the plow really doing much good, or would it be better with more razors? Or perhaps upgrade to maces. I found that on BWAHTAICU, the hammer extenders often broke off when I used 4 razors. But with 2 maces and 1 razor, it very rarely breaks.

Nice popup. Angled wedges should be good in theory, but I think they're actually not much better than straight wedges. You may want to invest in some armor on the wedge extenders, as they will get hit by HS's more like that.

- The wedge needs to be more slanted. - Use two or three Supervolts instead of all those purples. - Put more razors on the DDT's and less on the Snappers.
Then it should be a pretty decent popup.

The last number appears to designate game type. 0 = battle royal, 1 = Deathmatch, 2 = KOTH, and 3 = Tabletop.
And the second to last number appears to always be 1, so just leave it like that and don't worry about what it does.

It's better if you have a single goal and learn how to do just that. Arena py's in general is too huge of a topic to cover. After you've done several small things, you will gradually gain an understanding of Python, and be able to do more and more stuff in arenas.

I made a new AI for the non-melty brain shell spinners. Minifridge 4 and Resentful Princess 2 both use FBSPlus (only modded for reduced lag).

The 'flanking' strategy you describe is probably part of the Shove tactic. Shove tells bots to try to position themselves so they can push their opponent into hazards. It gets applied to most bots when they lose all their weapons. I always specify weapon ID's for the bots I AI so that they change tactics when the weapons break, but a lot of people don't do this (even though apanx's exporter makes it easy).
Little Metal Friend and Saber Tooth simply use Whipper.py with the back and forth option. Any bot can do it, but few actually do, mostly because it's usually better to just push your opponent.

Whoa, this is probably the most entries ever for a BOTM, isn't it? Too bad I missed it. I would have voted for either Scarab (for looking cool) or Halftone (for being a BW side hammer) though, so it wouldn't have made a difference.
