At the end of the day, the US isn't forcing anybody to compete for Team USA. If the athlete chooses to use our advanced facilities and to compete for our team, then so be it.
As for North Korea, spreading the message that in order to achieve one's dreams, one must leave North Korea is a good thing. Competing for the nation would only legitimize a tyrannical regime.

Instead of voting, I'm just going to complain about the results.

I guess the part that bothers me is the circumstances that lead them to representing the U.S. Whereas, their native country could probably benefit greatly from the exposure and morale boost that comes with having a medalist in the olympics. There were several competitors that grew up in their native countries, but when they showed promise in their respective sports they moved to the US and became citizens in the US to benefit from the more advanced facilities and resources... therefore becoming better because they had better resources, not because they were more talented then somebody else. I think it sucks that their native country does not get the exposure and rewards because those sorts of things can increase revenue and participation for their olympic programs. Making them stronger and more competitive. It wouldn't surprise me if some countries (US included) recruit possible team members from other countries and progress them through the ropes of citizenship just to win. To me, that is not in the spirit of true Olympics.
Your thoughts?
Many athletes who train in the US and live in the US do choose to compete for their native country (Yao Ming comes to mind). Forcing an athlete to compete for the country they're born in is bullsh**. What if they left that nation because they have nothing but contempt for it? Say I'm a refugee from North Korea. Why in the hell would I even compete in the Olympics if I had to represent a nation I loathe?

Go Nordiques! :P
After watching a bunch of the Olympics i have two things to say:
1. I will always make a point to watch womens snowboarding competitions from now on. Rwar!
2. Country representation just seems waaay out of whack. I don't think that USA should get credit for some of the medals they got. Why? because half of the time, the commentators would mention how representatives of the country were originally born elsewhere in the world and moved to the USA. Doesn't that just seem a bit unfair. Sure, the USA has a lot of resources and a person's chances of succeeding in Olympics stand greater when they are backed by the programs that the USA has to offer... but it just doesn't seem genuine to me. I have more respect for underdog countries that succeed in the olympics with their own resources, no matter how limited they may be. Case in point: Jamaican Bobsled team. RESPECT!
If they're US citizens, which they are, why does it matter where they're born? They chose to represent the US.

Sarcasm, my friend how would I know to have my camera when he shows up? huh? like I said, I can't expect you to understand.
Keep a camera on hand. Or say, "Hey, wait here a second. I want to fundamentally change every branch of science!" Does your uncle's ghost wear clothes, by the way? If so, what's the practicality of that, and how did he obtain them?

I just can't expect you to beleive it, it's a see it or belive it thing. Provide a photo of your uncle's ghosts and I'll open up to the possibility of ghosts existing. You will also gain worldwide fame as you'll be the first person to ever provide any legitimate evidence indicating that ghosts exist. And I don't think he'd want me posting pics of him on the internet without his permisian, and trust me, if i ever get visited by him, can i pozt u on teh interwebz/ is the last thing I'll say. He wouldn't want you gaining fame and riches for being the first person to prove that ghosts exist? Why wouldn't he? Just take a picture and post it. If he objects to it, you can always apologize later. The last I'll say probabley is "A-Are, yo-" then wake up on the floor houw later.
Wait... You wake up on the floor hours later after seeing him? Have you considered the possibility that you're just dreaming when you see him?

Look, all I meant by this topic is that all Hell is breaking loose, but nobody is doing anything about it. I have a feeling that if this continue this way, these forums will go the way of the AceUplink forums. Or that all the veterans will eventually get tired of it and leave, leaving nothing but n00bs here. When that happens, GTM may as well be dead.
You're afraid GTM will go the way of AceUplink, so you advocate that the admins do exactly what AceUplink did. The main reason why veterans hated AceUplink is because they were ban happy. Increase the amount of bans and you'll just increase the likelihood of a revolt.

How bout reincarnation, that crap creeps me out. There is less than a percent chance you would even be on earth (if there is another humanoid planet(s)). I'm sticking with good ol' heaven. That would be great. Yet there is so much to accomplish in society, I'd wish I would live to see the world as era by era progresses.
Reincarnation would be pointless as we clearly don't remember anything from past lives. As for heaven, the Biblical heaven, no thanks. If I wanted to be forced to worship an egomaniac, I'd move to North Korea.
