If you want to know, I read it and I disagree.

A lot of the problems can be fixed in the mod itself.  DSL3 should not require hundreds of unwritten rules just to scale it to someone's favor.  Aside from a few simple in house rules (DSL realism, controlled movement), just let people play with whatever is left.  If a modder does not like the way his mod is being played, then make an update patch.

Rams will continue to have problems due to positioning issues.  FS and Drums will be even more useless as they heavily rely on no normals.  HS will get a lot worst.  Flail SnS will not exist if all damage is concussion.  VS, despite getting weaker, will win more because it's bad match-ups got nerfed hard.

Popups easily get the biggest buff because

1.  No flail SnS to sweep them
2.  No indestructible half sheet
3.  Much harder to de-weapon with return damage
4.  Affected least by normal

Why do people keep saying popup will be gone when I already post an sample of one with normal weapon?

A lot of other things will be gone, but not the popups.  Relatively they will be even more OP.

Pusher should be included as a type with The Ounce as the expert.  I know Naryar made the first phototype but the Ounce really nail the concept of de-weapon pusher with refraction.

Intuos are way better than Bamboo.  Definitely better to look for a used intuos 3 than a new bamboo.

BEAR CRAWS!!!!!

It's pretty good when all components has normal.  With huge flat surface that deals damage, stacking Bear Claws functions just the same way as a razor popup would.  Would be even better if it's a pure piercing weapon.

Does it really matter?  Popups are fine with normal weapons, you build a few of those yourself.  It's every other bot type that's going to get nerfed hard.

Well, given rammers isn't the sharpest knife in the drawer as is, even with 1.839 to 1, rammers would just be outright bad when concussion is completely removed.  Or put in another way, you better off just move slow and stack as much weapons as possible (refraction).

Weapons doesn't have to be the same to be balanced.  The whole 1.839 to 1 was actually quite balance because momentum damage just can't be generated nearly as easily as spinners or popups.  The one person I can think of that loves concussion weapon is The Ounce, and his bots are competitive enough.  That's when I realize I don't actually have to explicitly change much for Space Arena.

No way.  With no flails to stop wedges, popups will be better than ever.

Something like samurai sword is good enough for popups in an environment where every bot suffers from normals.  Popup actually gets hurt the least from this as they can best control the direction of which the weapons make contact.

I don't know how you keep getting this 1.8 to 1 relationship.  When I systematically increase the speed/torque of the motor, piercing damage increase disproportionally to concussion.  That's why you get that 2.2 when both of them are on HS.

You can easily generate 3 to 1 or 4 to 1 with a stronger motor.

Longer middle wedge (use a 120), use angle skirts for the 2 sides.  Stick the metal hinge as far out as possible (parts directly connected to chassis are indestructible).

You either swap the x with the y, the x with the z, or the y with the z, depending on how you want to rotate.

There's also the negatives, but you will have to figure that out.

Well, replicas with custom components are easily the most time consuming part of making DSL3.  The tradeoff for having replica would probably be 1 or 2 years of wait, along with balance compensation.  The same amount of time can instead be used to make 50 or so components and balance them too.  If DSL3 do have replicas, I rather they be weak, or use a complete different set of txt.  Trying to balance the mod around them will lead to more imbalance than the modder can ever anticipate.

It's great to have everything, but at what cost?
