Hinge boosting should be treated as servo boosting, since it's basically the same.

I'll put it up in a bit. I've been exceptionally busy at the moment.

Well, it looks like everyone's internet is working...
Exactly as the data predicted. 164

No, they didn't work. I'm still having trouble.

I always check my registry and DNS settings manually and remove suspicious entries. Even if my computer was infected, I would know.
There's a file in a sub-directory of system32 that contains DNS redirection settings. It's often used in a Website Redirect prank that people pull on their friends, and can be used to tell your web browser to redirect requests for certain IP addresses to other destinations. What likely happened was that the "virus" was actually an entry added to this list that redirected people from commonly-used search engines to a specific URL. Some file-hosts with search engines (e-snips) will do this kind of stuff to get free hits. 167

I honestly have to admit I'm surprised how popular Atomic Pokey Stick is... I'll try doing some more work on it to make it worse, although the spike (which rarely does more than 20 damage) will be staying. It wouldn't be Atomic Pokey Stick without it...

I'm trying to use Fingertechs in order to avoid using modified servos. Neither Robot Marketplace nor my LHS had anything smaller in stock.

Well, it turns out I won't be fighting Invertigo. I'm going ahead and entering the Antweight (1-lb) class.

I would like to put this challenge on hold until I can fix the issue I'm having with AI.

Ok. The parts I got came in. Problem: I've already hit the weight limit, despite calculating everything properly when ordering to leave 20 grams for hardware. I'm pretty much going to say that something's fishy about these "150 gram" robots.

That's the thing... the parts won't be in until tomorrow. I originally intended to enter the antweight class, but there were no spots left so I decided to build a robot for the Fairyweight/UK Antweight class. Right now all I have is an incomplete CAD drawing of the robot I'll be entering.
Yeah... as I said before I have no common sense when it comes do doing things on schedule. 176

Thanks guys. When I first saw that thing I almost had a heart attack, but you guys have really given me the self-confidence to take Invertigo on.

Real Robotics Discussion / Re: In a bit of a jam...« on: July 03, 2012, 06:45:12 PM »Can we see the event registration and the bot you're using? I don't have the robot built yet, it's still in pieces, in a box, on a plane headed for Asheville Regional Airport. I have a bad habit of doing everything last minute... I am building a lifter, though. My idea was to use a design that can control opponents, and I am using some exceptionally good motors for the class. Avoid sharp edges, that blade will be spinning very fast, and with angled sides, will have nothing to bite on. I'll keep that in mind. 179

Well, it turns out the Antweight class is full at the event I'm entering, so I'm having to compete in the Fairyweight class. Only one problem... Invertigo is entered. Any suggestions on how to deal with this monster?

Well, if you're building something that small, then go for a high-torque micro, but make sure it's a high-end one. You'll still need around 150 oz-in of torque.
