Those are some weird links, m8. Clicking on one of them will only send me to Youtube homepage.

Delete the /?# or ?#/ in all your links for them to work.

this thread has got to have some of the coolest things ive ever seen in my entire life and i love you and want you inside of me

I've had quite a lot of toasts inside of me today. Could you specify which one of them is you? I don't know about the other way around, though, lol. Anyway thank you m8

I think I would be able to AI it but I'm not quite sure about BFE'ing the smartzones. Maybe I can aam them or something.

Well here you go if you or anyone else want to try AIing or just have fun with it.

https://www.mediafire.com/?091pqeo2xyen4tl

Ironforge 1.0 required. Non-Ironforge components included, just drag and drop the 3 folders on the RA2 main. No files should conflict.

Controls for the hammers are a bit retarded so you might want to change them, lol.

Thank you all

If anyone's interested to try AIing this bot I can send the bot file. The only non-Ironforge components in it are the DSL3 pneumatic burst motors.

Edit: Oh, the extenders of the hammers are probably not from Ironforge either but that's easily fixed.

If you really want someone to try to AI it, send it over.

I don't "really want someone to AI it".  I'm just slightly curious. I just build stuff XD.
If you want the bot file, I'll need to make some minor adjustments first and give you the missing components for your RA2 Ironforge

That's a really cool design :) , shame it's hard to use.
Surely a custom AI could be made for it? I can't remember what it was called (Topknot maybe?) but wasn't there a robot in DSL 2.1 that used a similar concept but as a full body spinner?
Maybe someone more experienced with AI can tell me.

I found this
https://gametechmods.com/forums/index.php?topic=1103.msg24825#msg24825

I have 0 experience on AIing so I don't know but it sure would be interesting to see AI bots controlling this thing perfectly. It would be a vicious AI.

... what in the name of potato is that... its... great.

Cheers

Here's something else. Unfortunately it's too complicated to be used against real fighting robots but it can be fun to use

The idea was to create something that would keep on punching the opponent relentlessly but it requires a lot of concentration to get it right so it kind of failed as bot suited for battle.

From a 10 minute gameplay, I made a compilation of the best parts.

Some of those SMGs seem to have a lot of blind spots. Can they all fire without being blocked by your own vehicle from the front?

Dominating, how long does each bot take to make?

Big bots like these require on average 3/4 hours to build. The extender work and armor placement is what consumes most of the time.
There are some cases where everything seems to fit perfectly and those bots are finished in 2 hours and maybe a lot less depending on the complexity.
On the other hand, I have those cases where everything goes wrong and you have to rebuild rebuild rebuild. Devourer Deluxe holds the record for 6+ hours spent building that thing...
You must have a mahussive attention span 0.0

It's a perk you get for being a patient introvert :P
But I'm focused for longer because I enjoy what I'm doing. If I'm attending a lecture of some sorts I'll probably drift away in less than 10 minutes.
I also play the Starbound soundtrack whenever I go build something. The awesome music prevents me from getting frustrated. Best idea I've had in a while.

Dead Metal on steroids.
I actually thought on that too when I finished it  :approve:

Do the head also move like the arms?

The vertical saw is servo controlled and has a "resting position" (pic3) from which it can detach and reach the opponent if necessary.

I think I wasted too much time on details with this one.

Almost like the very first bot I showcased here, this one uses burst motors to open wide and grab the opponents and keep them in place. The vertical saw is servo controlled and has a "resting position" (pic3) from which it can detach and reach the opponent if necessary. On the back there are 2 burst motors that combined with the vertical saw can help on self-righting

That man has been through a lot. It's good to know that the next generation is reminded of his incredible feats and intend to follow his footsteps. It's pretty normal to feel sad for him, I mean his whole life was a pain and his cause suffered major drawbacks.

I've already seen similar stuff in TV shows. People turning real sized cars into remote controlled vehicles and adding machine guns, cannons and RPGs to their hoods

Assuming you mean what I think you mean, that show was utter crap and didn't even last a full season.
Full Metal Challenge?
BTW, this was great. Really reminiscent of the first two RW series, considering Clarkson was the original host:

Nope, not Full Metal Challenge. I never heard of it actually.

I've seen that Top Gear episode too but the show I talked about had only 2 vehicles per battle and they were equipped with heavy weaponry. I have no clue about the name of the show. It resembled more to Top Gear than Full Metal Challenge.

I assume you're assuming right because I watched 1 or 2 episodes a long time ago and I never heard of it again.

Yeah I can't see firearms ever being allowed, especially when we still have trouble allowing just spinners in the UK. Firearms would just turn it into a tank competition anyway.

UK is too civilized to even consider firearm robots. My prediction has America written all over it.

Probably the next step won't have anything to do with much technology. In next gen robot combats, they will most likely allow equipping robots with firearms and stuff like that. The typical short range weapons would still be used but bots would be bigger and better armored.

To allow that, they would have to build outdoor arenas protected with walls of sand

Yes XP is infinitely better than 7 or 8... mostly due to the latter being full of security obsessed faggotry...

Win8 is fine though, much better than seven.

though all this OS-chan is nonsense.

If security faggotry is the problem, it's easy to disable it in the control panel. I agree that XP is way better (apart from random blue screen crashes). If only it had compatibility to 64bit...

I think the first measurement I'll take to preventing this from happening twice is getting windows 7 once and for all and letting xp-chan rest peacefully

You're making me want to reinstall XP again so bad right now...
It's so stupid and pointless to personify operating systems but it still made me sad

That last one can be effective but it's so damn ugly. The name suits it well.
It's beyond just effective, it's OP as hell.

Even against plasmas?
Of course.  With 11 pads and 6 thrusters both direction, I am faster than 99% of the T3 bots.

I killed the entire enemy team of 9, fought 5 bots solo simultaneously, 3 of which were plasma, and I killed them all while receiving just 20% damage.

Damn, that's impressive. are you still applying your method of using Inners instead Cubes whenever possible?
