Discussion / Chessboard Arena
« on: September 22, 2006, 01:42:32 PM »
If you are planning to make that arena as a tabletop arena under tabletop arena -section, forget it. Because the game doesn't like at any custom tabletop arenas. It crashes.

But I think there is again something hidden oddness like there was between download and cd versions of RA2. But yeah that would be nice. It would be nice to know what the game requires to be able to run those normal tabletop arenas and so if we could know we could add those hidden things to our custom tabletops too and so we could run them in the game as tabletops under tabletop section.

How much does that weight? Like 800 kgs or something? That looks quite simple and I have seen that kind of designs quite many or at least I think so. Maybe I have imaginated that kind of designs in my mind or something...

But anyway the point in this post was that, that is correctly designed to be also a very good flipper. Well done. =)

Umm... Clicky said everything what I had said but in shorter terms...

And also as I said you might have NAT which prevent your hosted game appearing.

Yeah. I swap modems. Maybe I didn't use the right word but I have 2 modems. Other has router and NAT functions, Other doesn't.

Yeah it is quite tipsy if you straight away accelerate the disc to its full speed. But it is quite hard to use any GOOD supports on the sides because then turning area goes to second potency. Well not really. But I first used Vladipoker's spikes as side supports but I soon noticed that it was just most of the time in the corner jammed there because very wide sideways length.

So it's better to be a little tipsy than a little jammy.

Edit: No, wait. You actually can see the original supports in the pictures where I have owned Critical Emergency. As you can see those are bit wider than current supports but they just weren't enough good.

If you have a router or NAT (a thing which hides your computer's IP, your inner IP, but doesn't hide your modem's IP, your outter IP.) Then unplug the router and go to NAT's setup and open some ports which the game uses. I don't know them even I have a NAT too. I simply just switch my normal modem to total piece of sh** with no extra stuff and then just trust to my software firewall.

So the game doesn't understand so called "double IPs." That's why you have to unplug your router if you have a router. Or of course you could open some ports in your firewall too. Don't ask me which ones, because I don't have to setup my hardware firewall because I use that software while hosting games on my other modem.

I think you just have a typing error in one of those txt files.

Do you have the team pic in bmp format and have you given it right name in the py file and have you renamed all the bots to bot0, bot1 and so on and have you checked spelling in teams.txt and so on? Give some more information.

This is off topic but I just experienced, well just and just, but anyway, I experienced that the new DSL-TC mod makes the havok go just mad when I add a mag snapper motor as a flipper, a skirt hinger and any motor on a bot. Motors are on arena's floor unbalanced, well I mean motors' axles are unbalanced on the arena's floor. They just start to spin around the axle's mount where the axle should spin around itself but now it starts to spin around its place where it should be.

More weird is that any balanced weapon on that motor is now unbalanced too. Identical component is now much heavier than the same component which should be at same weight. This is very weird and even I replace the motor to new one the same effect happens. Though this happens only at high rpms for example motors which are designed to be drivemotors work correctly but when the rpms go higher any motor starts to rotate its axle around its axles mount.

If you want to get some pictures to understand what I'm saying then tell me. Especially Clicky or someone else if you have any ideas why this happens and how exactly I have placed those all components.

My least is samurai or how it is typed. Anyway it is hard to get any very good hits on its chassis and it has the armoring like on a tank. My favorite bot... I don't know yet for sure. Maybe good old Sir Killalot because it is so fun to smash him up over and over again. NO WAIT!

I know now. My favorite robot is that junkyard team's wreck tangle or how it is again typed, but anyway it is just fun to try to rip every components off it before killing it. Its nice to smash and smash and smash it over and over again until it is finished.

Weeelll....    Maybe I'll post Spike Beetle here when I have time but I won't upload Spike Beetle II because it is so superior. =D And I won't upload The Ultimate Spike Beetle at least any time soon because it is so powerful.    Dang I'm mean.

Yeah I might tried to make it a beetle at first but then I noticed that there isn't any use for it because other LW bots just would have owned it faster and also it is quite weak even it has armor like in a tank, weapons are quite weak and that's why it isn't so good.

Yeah and thanks for your praises.  :D
