Ace, we got a challenge first I thought? Is the rule only one member per challenge still?

Is that a recent thing? Being down I mean?
I can't remember what I used to play on... Way, way, way ago it was KCVDS. Then YGOPro maybe? Maybe it was DN though... I can't remember... Is/Was DN automated? I remember YGOPro being pretty amazing. 163

I fear participation will waver if people don't enter on the basis that they can enter again during the year. Maybe six months? I just think once a year would be too few, then again... the community seems quite a quiet one, maybe once a year would draw more people out? Maybe you are right. The mod used will be used on rotation. The top two mods out of the main three will be cycled through, hopefully. Good thinking. Although this makes me think every 6 months/twice yearly would work better. Every April Stock, Every October DSL for example? Then each mod is once a year still as I know some people (Me for one ) like their particular mod and it would suck sitting one year out.*Braces for "So learn DSL then" reply *

Stock Showcases / Re: R01's Showcase Thread« on: July 18, 2016, 03:49:47 AM »do you have 3 or 6 AI bots per team? just wondering because it doesn't look like you have the ui from v2 or v3 and went to straight to v4Actually I'm building those in a modded copy of RA2 which has a better grid and height graphic making it easier to build and then export them to Starcore. I was wondering if v4 needed earlier packs, currently I have a copy of RA2 with SC1 and one that was directly patched with v4(so I only have 3 bots, thought that SC4 would make them 6 via the teams file but guess not), will patch that later. Yeah if you grab v3 first, it has all the UI updates and stuff, then v4 just adds additional teams and bots. I admire your style for sticking to "fair play" as it were. Let me tell you that you are not alone in some ways. I am against using hax mode and file editing your bot in Stock, but I find the odd glitch only helps with creativity. Putting the black batteries on top of each other for example means you've got more room for everything else, if that means more drive, more weapons or more armour, great! RA2 should be fun above all, so if you have fun building replicas and sticking to "realistic" design bots without intersecting components, that's fine. You can still enter tournaments, enter competitions and challenge other members, but the bots you build will (more often than not) be at a disadvantage to the members who do use glitches and stuff and everyone here will always try and advise you how to be more "competitive", but just play the way you do - you don't have to follow anyone's advice if you don't want to! 169

Orange avenger isnt a terrible bot, but it needs more razors to cause damage faster and needs some sort of frontal protection or it will get ripped apart by other people's weapons when it tries to go under them.

Also, I got the BBEANS A.I pack. Try and get into the habit of always using DSA when playing in stock. It is the best armour and should always be used as it is also the lightest (feasible option). The only exception is (rarely) using plastic on the low weight classes (Lightweight and below) as it is even lighter than DSA and the low weight limit is more restrictive, but even then, DSA should still be used where you can. How are you faring against the BBeans pack? Starcore v4 is also a good mix. 171

I also built a 5 wheel drive rammer bot for this (would have been the only entry not using 3 wheels as well as it turns out!), my thoughts were, simple weapon, insane drive power... In the end I opted to enter Conundrum instead... 173

I think an "official" gtm tournament held on a quarterly or 4 monthly basis would be a great idea.
League rankings would be a bonus. Would only help keep the community together. Problem would be agreeing on the mod to use... that's the biggest divide I can see coming in 6 years later. I'm doubtful RA3 will become what we all want it to become any time soon. 175

Pixel, in case you are in fact NOT aware of DSA, it stands for double strength aluminium.
Statistically it is the same weight as regular aluminium but strength wise, it is stronger than steel. It's a sort of hidden part, to apply it, once you have drawn your chassis and adjusted it's height, click accept or whatever. Then you should be on the armour/draw chassis tab, DO NOT CLICK ARMOUR. DSA is applied to your bot as standard, just build your bot as normal and never click the armour button and your bot will have DSA. 177

Rotate the Extenders so your Iron Bars are stacked like this: o o not like this: oo That way they hit together and do more damage. Whats the random ballast for? You could still shorten the extender work as well. Keep going bro 178

You've got some excessive extender work there that can be shortened. Maybe replacing the Maces with Razors would help as well. Or add more spinners and batteries and go for a fuller heavyweight. Getting better bro |
