Curses. Went out in the semis, though I smacked around nicsan like he owned me money to get 3rd place.

All I have to say now for the MW finals: I hope that SkidMark takes it.

Metal Hinge wedges? Check.

Poor show.
For shame.

Agreed. Metal Hinges on an IRL bot? Meh.

This is the reason as to why the new Flood (Revision 2.1) has undergone some changes:

-Removed the tongue from the front (the polycarb skirt on the Metal Hinge wedge)
-Upgraded hammers to 50kg hammers
-Upgraded armor to Tite 1

I don't think that front wedge won me any of the fights; it was all the brute force behind my Hammers of Death that won the fights for me.

Flood 2.1 will be back to defend his crown. Just take Flood 2, change it to make it more IRL (aka what metal hinge wedge?), and there you go.

Pardon me for asking, but what makes Connie's entry more realistic than all the others?
I'm refering to the SHW. I thought it looked like someone would build it IRL.
It reminds me a whole lot of the original Storm.

No lifter and axe at the same time? Seems inconvenient.

Considering what The Steel Avenger looks like, I'm not terribly surprised that there's no lifter and axe available at once.

I voted for #4, as it reminds me of a middleweight version of Pwnator's Skeksis.

Manta.  It had interchangable weapons but I couldn't find a pic of it with the 3-toothed slasher blade that I used.  The skin was all hand-drawn in Paint, and NOT copy/pasted from the original.  I know I made some inaccuracies because I couldn't get the exact right shape, but well, still think it came out ok:
(Image removed from quote.)

I've seen the 3-tooth slasher blade before, but I keep on thinking that was only on its Robotica/Battlebots version, Kritical Mass.

Holy crap, are those techno wheels? If so, great job.

Don't think those are Technos, but rather Overkills.

Wow... my first ever straight win. Admittedly, it was only an 8 bot tourney, but still I gotta start somewhere.

Also, good fight FOTEPX. I was expecting at first your robot to get under me and grind me to pieces, but that didn't come to pass. Anyway, good show, and who knows? Maybe I'll re-enter Flood 2 to see if he can retain his crown in the next tourney.

Too many HS.  Epitaph does less good against other HS.  It was pure luck I got past Mike in the first round.

What the heck was up with Wolfsbane's bot?

Or SKBT's bot for that matter?  It looks like some of the drive motors aren't wired.

And where's my flamethrower? Did I fail safety for it and need to have it removed or something?

Also, why isn't my spin motor for my HS always on? I know I didn't exactly ask for it, but that greatly reduces Flood 2's effectiveness.

Versus NFX first? Let's see how the Quad Mag spinning mass does against his dual Piglet spinning mass...

LW - Rock Star From Mars

this name is epic

Speedway Stars
"Second is just the first loser."
LW- Late Model
MW- Bump Draft
HW- Daytona
AW- Start & Park
BW- SpinOut
SHW- Motor Meltdown

all of them are hilariously fast rammers

Hmm... I wonder if WTF, Mate!? - Wedge + 25 or 30 kg hammer would count as a "hilariously fast" rammer...

Off-Topic Discussion / Re: Did you buy or build your computer?
« on: October 08, 2011, 01:02:44 PM »
My first... 3 computers were bought; first one in '05, second in '06, and the third in '07.

I finally plunked down the money to build my own back in August '09. I hope to build my next computer sometime in the next 12 months for about $800-1000.

Trying to find, so its not the "Ignore Boards Options"?

Yeah, you'll need to click on the "Group Membership" tab under Modify Profile and then go from there.

That might be well and good, but shouldn't 3 ant's be able to power 3 motors for 3 minutes?

I think a 40cm Polycarbonate skirt would be lighter than it, and provide slightly better and stronger stability.

Alright, with Vlads it became more unstable than with a CF Extender. Downgrading the wheels back to Rubber allowed the robot to become much more stabilized.

Weight is now @ 391.7, so I've got a few kilos to play with. Any suggestions as to what to do with it?

Try and change the cf extender to a skirt.

Don't need to take up unnecessary weight back there.
