I think what you mean by hinge armour is Narmour which uses the collision mesh of teh skirt hinge for armour...
I think i'll let others expand on this

Epic bump. I think I should take another crack at building. I built this in 123AI.  Currently unfinished & unnamed popup. 7 ants, 8 razors, 4 half sheets underneath. Some clone of inspiration from Beautiful Oblivion. Still don't know what to do with remaining 195 kg. BTW, I read somewhere here(forgot where) and it said something called hinge armor, and I don't know what that is. Can someone give me an explanation of it?

Hey everyone, in the recent weeks(if you noticed) I've been a lot less active. But now I must say that my time on GTM has passed.
Full honesty here, of all the forums I've been, GTM was the most fun. I had fun watching tournaments progress, and people flaming each other because of an upset victory or something like that. I truly enjoyed watching flame wars(not trying to be a d*ick). But when I first came on here, and while I was on here, i was more of a troll. I have matured since then and most of you also have matured(excluding a few for obvious reasons).
Thank you everyone who were kind and helpful to me, I appreciated your enthusiasm and helpfulness.
So from me, this is farewell.
