I find it amusing that your style is so consistent. You are doomed to be called out on every BOTM till the day you die.

If you nix those big ass batteries and replace them with 4 ant batteries it will give you some extra weight to play with. (upgrade armor or add more weapons)
I'm not too fond of the front wedge asthetically. It looks effective for combat, but doesn't flow well if you are trying to make the bot look realistic.
Overall, the design is pretty cool. I am with Handrew in believing that the weapons cut into the motors. It just doesn't look possible that they don't.
Keep up the good work. I am enjoying your progress in this showcase.
Also, props for properly sized and cropped pictures in your showcase. A lot of new members totally screw that up.

Your late repdown by me were entirely justified.
Was. Singular, not plural
Sorry for being a Grammar Nazi, but little details like this annoy me more than walls of text written in retard language. I am strange.
Being a Grammar Nazi on an International forum is kinda pointless. Naryar is primarily French. So, you should probably cut him some slack. (or he'll smite you)

E-tek with axle loading?
Hmmm... not sure why I didn't think of that. Probably because I don't axle load much of anything often. Good idea. Off to the botlab for me. Sorry for derailing the topic a bit. Back to the showcase talk. :D

Mass is right. Signups have not opened yet. Your enthusiasm is great though. Just hold onto that bot and when the tourney is open for entries you can send it over.
In the meantime, now is a good time to test the bot against AI opponents and make improvements if needed. :D

... than the TWM3RLX (which is horribly slow and not suited)
TWM3RLX is a drive motor...
I know that you silly Frenchie. Now quit pointing out stuff I know and help me find out a way to mount two of them on a proper motor in a similar fashion.

I'm never leaving. I <3 you all.
Gametechmods is more than a forum centric to Robot Arena 2 and Robot Combat. It is a community first and foremost. You are all awesome people with your quirks. Your positives and negatives that make us all human in the first place.
Been rockin' here since '07. Not planning on leaving anytime soon.
Cheers.

Heh, car steering is really inefficient. Your previous set-ups with HPZ teks and regular ones are usually the way to go.
Car steering is sooooo heavy, its just not worth it. In fact, there is little to nothing good to say about that particular part.
I like the weapon setup though! You are improving. :D

[6:54:03 PM] Matthew Coots: nobody has banned HX yet [6:54:09 PM] Matthew Coots: for that pussy avatar
To be fair, it's not.
I had to stare at it for like 5 minutes to figure it out. Hate to say it... but it seems like things have gotten out of whack since the changes in partial merging chatterbox stuff into the main forum took place. There's been a whole lot of horseplay going on since. This is why we cant have nice things.

Those discs overlap like a boss. I've been trying to find a way to double-axle them on a more powerful motor than the TWM3RLX (which is horribly slow and not suited)
The collision mesh on them is pretty much nil.
Hat tip to the bot name btw.

It also helps if you make the chassis as low as possible so that it can drive while upside down (i.e. Invertible) If that bot gets flipped, it's done.
An efficient bot (of that design) has a low enough chassis where those shiny wheels can touch the ground either way.

I can't be arsed to boot up stock and check the weight difference... but wouldn't a upside down red dual arm thingy do better than the spike strip. (lawl... i can't even remember what they are called)

Stock was fun until we finally had to put a limitation on in-game glitches (hax mode).
It is really unfortunate that happened really. From my perspective, since the unveiling of hax mode. The veterans that embraced it have lost interest in the community because it is not allowed in tournaments. Yet, tournament hosts don't want such an unbalanced playing field. So they disallow hax mode to make a tournament more inviting to new/unskilled builders. It makes tournaments more inviting and fun, but alienates the elite builders that take things to the next level. It's actually kinda fascinating how delicate the balance is (and continues to be). Honestly, I would love a hax mode centric tournament that got entries from Sage, Scrap, Robo, Psyc, Inf, etc etc. (Plus current awesome stock builders)

Whoa. That was crazy close! My bot seriously robbed you of the win there with the chassis shape. Didn't see that coming. You are an awesome opponent. Best of luck in the LB. :D

I can see where you are coming from, , I even left for a while, only really coming back to see some stuff as i got relatively bored (as well as a bit angry cause of the external stuffing up). Im pretty sure I don't even have my copies of RA2 anymore..
Oh admit it. You keep coming back because you hope I will feature you in a comic again. <3

Some questions:
1. What do you want to see more of? Replica Tournaments and IRL tourneys with a strict adherence to the spirit of IRL building.
2. Why don't you comment much? I comment enough.
3. Where do you spend most of your time on the forum? Showcases and Tournament stuff.
4. Do you watch tournament videos that don't feature your own bot? Sometimes. But too many hosts don't take the time to really outline who made which bot and just record vids. I honestly hate it when I watch a vid to a tournament and it doesn't show a (well made) splash showing both bots and who made them. Strengths and weaknesses are a nice touch too. Click's tournament vids are a good example of what I like to see. I don't like having to go back to the splash or brackets to figure out who made which bot.
5. Why don't you enter BOTM? A decent BOTM entry for me takes sometimes a whole day or weekend to focus on. I just never seem to have the time lately. Winter usually slows my life down, I am more BOTM active then.
6. How many AI packs do you have? Starcore and DSL baby.
7. Do you play stock, DSL or both? Mostly DSL now.
8. What have you given to the community? Positive vibes and support for Artbots/IRL building. I can appreciate there are builders who favor efficiency and builders that favor appearance. Both building styles should be embraced and encouraged depending on the direction of the builder. (but you can save yourself a world of hurt by avoiding the grey area in between)
A note to ian: The appreciation for antweights is fairly low. The matches are unfortunately boring and hardly destructive. While, I do love the challenge of building something small. The excitement of watching it battle is non-existent. I do appreciate that you like them so much, but I just don't see a lot of support from the community in that direction. AI packs are a different monster really. A lot of members here are interested in tournaments... and we use AI packs that test our bots in preparation for tournaments. "Benchmark" AI packs are going to get a lot of support. Inf AI, Starcore, NarAI, etc etc. are very helpful in a sense for testing. "Entertainment" AI packs aren't going to get much support or excitement because usually the player will try it out and then forget about it mostly. To a degree DSL actually falls in this category. It is the foundation, but a dated proving ground. (some might argue that it wasn't a very good proving ground initially)
In closure, I am surprised the community is still active for a (almost) 10 year old game. Given the age of the game, I am happy it has the support that it does have. <3
