Digging the drill, though (pun totally intended).

Djibouti will hopefully get a medal :D I used the larger panels to give them more HP, it might be easier to hit but it can take more so I figured I'd take that chance due to having only 4 weapons. The bot I used is one I made sometime early-mid last year I think.

Sent :D and a big thumbs up to anyone who knows the country I'm going to compete for :P

If this is Olympics, then why do we have separate UK parts?

Don't get me started on those cheats, I find it disgusting how England, Wales, Scotland and Northern Ireland compete (together) as UK in the Olympics when there are so many small islands/countries who send less then 10 athletes each... makes me sick.

FYI sage has made a typo with beetleweight in the original post "Beeteweight (BW)".

I also find it disturbing people want heavier weight classes instead of lighter ones like fleaweight.
how so?

There's still plenty that can be done with lighter weight classes, people just like spamming weapons as we can see by the number of SnSers and 36 HSers. With heavier weight classes people will just build bigger HSers etc. and innovation will suffer.

Light classes are so close to each together already.. I mean 75kg isnt much between BW and LW

also it introduces a tighter minimum to the others..

I never really liked anything above SHW, I find 600kg fun to work with, its not really enough to make a HW design robot but its an extra 200kg to load up a MW design  thus why I tried to / still plan to try to innovate it.

I've always wanted a light heavyweight class from 400-600kg. I'm thinking about trying to build some FW's to see how flexible that weight class could be.

eeek DSL, might enter a LW... have to download a DSL AI pack first lol.

A guide of all components (that can be placed on the chassis base) size based on squares high/squares wide would be more helpful that way people can easily make an airtight chassis based on their needs.

Discussion / Re: The 100 Most Memorable RA2 Robots Of All Time
« on: July 29, 2012, 02:55:43 AM »
Honestly there's quite a few bots mentioned that I don't know like the ones which won tournaments other then BBEANS, I don't think enough attention is given to the smaller tournaments to warrant the title of top 100 most memorable to any robots unless that robot is something special (like Skinhead due to the turret AI).

In order of most memorable for me it goes:

AI Bots
BBEANS bots
Popular showcase (INF, Click, Sage etc.) bots
Older Bots (Thumperizer etc.)
Smaller tournament (RAW, Clash Cubes, Tag Team Challenge etc.) Bots

Again I don't think we should include robots just because they won a minor tournament unless there's something special about that robot.

Existing Games / Video Game Olympics - The E-lympics
« on: July 29, 2012, 02:41:04 AM »
I love the Olympics and really anything that involves competition and a year or 2 ago I watched the World Cyber Games which is the video game version of the Olympics. I got to thinking of ways they could improve it to make it more like the actual Olympics including:

*More emphasis on the countries, show us how many gamers are competing from each country and highlight the favoured genres/games.
*Better game layout:
-FPS - Call of Duty, Counter-strike
-RTS - Starcraft 2, League of Legends
-Sport:
 *Wrestling - Current WWE game
*Racing - Current Gran Turismo game
 *Soccer - Current Fifa game
 *Basketball - Current NBA game
*Boxing - Current Fight Night game
-Fighting - Tekken, DoA, Street Fighter, Mortal Kombat
-Action/RPG - World of Warcraft (PvP and PvE/raid races)
*Possibly have a retro category and/or an arcade category.
*Possibly have a Motion control category for Wii/Move/Kinect/Eyetoy games.

What would you all like to see in a video game Olympics? Perhaps some robot arena 2? :)

another possible first for an AW :) required some chassis reduction work and axle loading for the weapons. Control board is stacked in the pink under the motors.

Wow. Thats a pretty cool concept. Beats the carp out of UBFunkeys.  :P

Would have been pretty awesome if it was Mobile Suit Gundam.

looking through some Japanese site which showed this also showed some Gundam figures and some other random figures, not too sure if they are for video games or just lone figures/models.

1596
I KNOW there's a more affordable version of this in America, but I can't for the life of me remember what it's called

Skylanders perhaps? :P only difference is you can't customise your figures and in-game characters (to match how the figure looks).

The game only works on Japanese PS1's though which means you'd have to get one of those imported just to play the game sadly :(

I do believe there are ways around this.

Probably something to do with gameshark.

One sold yesterday on Ebay for US $51.02 + AU $49.69 (PH). Apparently it's not that rare in Japan so if you really wanted to buy it, it shouldn't cost too much from a Japanese seller.

Build and customise robots that you can use in a fighting game by plugging the figure into your playstation (PSX/PS1) memory card slot.

*Build
*customise
*Play

I love, love, love this concept! Just imagine what a robot arena 2 game like this would be like :D or any game for that matter that has customisation in it like:

*Tekken 6
*Soul Caliber
*Gran Turismo
*Jade Cocoon
*Call of Duty

You could sell random part packs along with selling kits to build specific characters/robots. What are your thoughts on these types of things?
