Creative or not, it's not a good idea to waste chassis space like that.

For your rammer, I got a bunch of suggestions.
First of all, use double aluminum. Look at the beetle bros building techniques page The Ounce provided you the link for. Secondly, use six HP zteks with shiny wheels. You need only to make your chassis 6 tics above the lowest point in order to make it tall enough to fit zteks. Thirdly, build your rammer on the front differently. Do it similarly to the way it's done on the front of this robot: ![]() 1543

If it's the latter, than the 20cm extenders wouldn't be long enough to reach the front. 1544

Ok thanks I was wondering what that was. I reduced the weight with this one. I'll whip out my emergency flipper once I find out what's broken it. ![]() 1545

I've seen alot of people make this kind of robot. I don't know what it's called, or how to make one properly for that matter. So here's my first attempt.

For those of you who remember Rachel from my desktop picture, you ought to find this funny. She changed her name to swifty in this chat to try and trick me into thinking she was someone else (I dunno why, I guess she thought it'd be funny).
Too lazy to have timestamps turned on. SwÃfty: cool story bro Noodle: ew SwÃfty: wat Noodle: swifty is a whale SwÃfty: XD Noodle: swifty you really let yourself go :( SwÃfty: lolololol Noodle: jesus swifty how do you fit in your computer chair SwÃfty: >:( Noodle: get what I'm saying, "swifty" 1548

The only two angle connectors/T connectors that are on the entire robot are the two you see in the picture. The only reason I haven't removed them or the wedges is because they're at the perfect height. If I remove either and try to replace them, which is what I've been trying to do, it upsets the balance of the entire robot. I suppose they're weak points. I'm gonna need to focus primarily on them in the future.

Well I guess I did ok for a first BOTM. Then again, I think I coulda done better. I was really eager to enter, so I jumped the gun, built a quick robot, and entered really early in the month. Twenty days later after I had learned alot more about building, I was looking back at Trololocity and realizing it wasn't all that good. Oh well, there's next month.
By the way, was I supposed to PM ACAMS about my entry or something? I thought it automatically told him what user uploaded the robot. 1551
Stock Showcases / Re: Noodle's Showcase« on: July 02, 2010, 12:20:48 AM »Looking good, the main problem (but this is an issue with all chained VS and there's nothing to be done about it) is that there are not very many weapons and the bot will quickly become unbalanced. Thanks for the compliment! I tried to make a spike strip that would serve as both a weapon and as something to prevent weapons from getting to the extenders. So I tried bending it up on both sides in order to block the extenders. If this wasn't the way I was supposed to do it, Click, please enlighten me. ![]() 1553

Stock Showcases / Re: Noodle's Showcase« on: July 01, 2010, 07:16:26 PM »They seem more like stabilizers to me; static wedges are no good anyway. Yeah I know they're awful wedges. They're there for two other reasons. First as stabilizers and secondly as something to help prevent robots get to the exposed sides. Also, I made the chassis a little smaller. Now it's only got two bigvolts. ![]() ![]() ![]() I added two extenders going backwards because if I don't have anything there it tips over backwards now due to the smaller chassis. I capitalized on their positions and put a couple ram plates up to protect the extenders a bit. It also has double aluminum now I think. I renamed him Road Block Box because this robot's sorta beginning to resemble a road block. 1556
Stock Showcases / Re: Noodle's Showcase« on: July 01, 2010, 06:49:47 PM »It only needs 2 Supervolts really, and you might want to think about putting wedges on it too. I don't quite get what you mean about putting wedges on it. It does have wedges on it. 1557
