I see... so your saying I should bump the armor down to 3m Titanium and increase the disks strength?

Hello Everybody, here is a rebuild of Woozo for Naryar's AI pack:
The major changes to Woozo are I abandoned the flails. Even though they were cool, they just glitched too much. I replaced them with nine razors on a disk. I upped its drive, and more importantly upped his armor to 3mm Steel. (Belive me, he needs it). His main strategy is get under the opponent and deal massive amounts of damage to the opponents underside before too many razors fall off. Any comments (especially be Naryar) would be appreciated. :D 1525

Odds are, nothing bad will happen to you. But there is a slim possibility that someone will see you, try and track you down, and who knows what else.
As Reier said, it is just not a good idea. 1526

I loved it when I first got it. It was one of the best robot games at that time IMO.

Well, I agree with Duck... (Sort of).
Anyway, I am not seeing the flame wars courthousedoc is talking about. The ones that are supposedly tearing these fourms apart? Flame wars are a part of forums, and can never be truly dealt with. Why bother trying to stop them? They add variety and excitement to the forums, and good ideas and suggestions are often created during flame wars. 1529

Unless I'm seeing it wrong, it would appear that the blades cut right through the skirt hinge, making it unrealistic. I would try to fix that to make it realistic. Besides that it looks good. Compact and well built.

I personally enjoy bland paintjobs. The robots I build very rarely look good.

Discussion / DEBATE: Crawlers in Tournaments.« on: September 19, 2009, 11:42:10 PM »
Okay, after a thorough review of the debate, I hereby rule in favor of Sage.
My Reasoning: It would appear that Naryar's basis for banning Crawlers is not that they violate any rules, but because he seems to view them almost as lesser robots. He claimed that "Building a good crawler is nothing like optimizing a caster armored popup." Regardless of whether this is true, it is still no grounds for them to be banned. He also seems to think that should a tournament have a large number of Crawlers, the matches would be borring, and that everyone would get tired of seeing Crawler Vs Crawler battles. This may or may not be true, but the point is that what he claims is speculation, as not many Crawler Vs Crawler battles have been filmed. This is thus not a valid reason for the banning of Crawlers. Naryar does bring up a strong point as far as DSL Crawlers. Regardless of whether other designs in DSL would be ineffiecient IRL, Crawlers would simply not function at all, and thus not be very realistic. As for Sage's defense of Crawlers, he clearly states that Crawlers do not violate any of the standard tournament rules. He also clearly addresses that Cralwers are not invulnerable, and that popups can defeat even very well built ones like Bumble Bee. And I have to agree with him that even though a robot is good, it should not be banned purely for that reason. All in all, even if Crawlers are deadly opponents and make for borring, WBP matches, in my mind this is still not a good enough reason for them to be banned from tournaments. I hope you guys all enjoyed this debate, and hopefully there will be more to come. -Urjak 1538

Agree with Sage. A 2v2 would probably be doable, but anything above that is pushing it.
