Tournament Archives / Maximum Overkill - Signups
« on: June 18, 2014, 05:43:51 PM »

Stock LW

Everyone will be able to enter up to 18 entries.
Single elimination, best 1 of 1 matches for sanity's sake. Except for the final match, which is best 5 of 9.
The tournament continues until there is only one bot left. Last bot standing is the winner.
Really strightforward guys. NO restrictions on bot quality, come one come all etc.

GENERAL RULES
-You know what "stock" means. No BFE, AAM, Hax Mode, cheatbot2, Thyrus Glitch, Text Editing... etc
-Any and every non-cheatbot2 component included with the 1.4 version of stock is 100% legal, this includes the 140cm extenders, all AI parts, and the snapper II
-Your bot must show some sort of controlled movement (I will be testing for this, but I am generally lenient about it), 1WD bots and crawlers are fine, given they use a melty brain with controlled movement or can move forward.
-Failing the controlled movement test will result in any infringing entries being rejected, you must replace your entry after with something more stable/controlled.
-Smartzones do not count as weight if it pushes your robot above the weight limit.
-Once accepted, you are allowed to update/change your team ONCE and only ONCE. Updating a single bot counts as updating your team, so be careful!
-Of course, adding bots to your team, or replacing an invalid bot doesn't count as updating your team. If you explicitly say that you want a sent bot to replace another bot on your team, that IS a update.
-Any obvious attempts to counteract or otherwise exploit a loophole in the rules will be automatically DQ'd (example: sending 18 of the same bot, Chris).
-Multibots are allowed, even though there is no reason to build a LW multibot.
-While replicas, IRL bots, and intentionally poorly built bots clearly built below the builders skill level ("jokebots") will be accepted (given they follow the rules), they will be marked in purple in the signups, and will be removed if signups fill completely.

HAVOK RULES:
-Occasional, minor havok is counted as controlled movement as long as it is not constant (i.e. you cannot turn without going airborne).
-If your bot is suspected of causing a game-altering havok, the match will be restarted once. If it happens again during the match, the offending bot will be ELIMINATED IMMEDIATELY, no exceptions.

-Max limit is 256 entries.
-My entries are:

The arena will be the Small Arena (Small... arena with no OOTA potential, and no hazards).
The arena for the finals will be the Epic Showdown arena (circular arena with poles along the edges and OOTA potential)

Green = Accepted.
Purple = Host's bots, IRL style bots, Replicas, and Jokebots, will be removed when signups fill.

(While you are not REQUIRED to AI your bots, I highly recommend it to speed up the pre-SBV process on my end. I would really appreciate it!)

Plastic, right?

I really think you should make an AI pack. You have so many bots and they're all awesome.
I'm probably going to finish up my AI pack this summer. I wouldn't mind taking in a few bots from other members after its at least playable as extra teams...

5000 posts.

Tirebot! Man that takes me back. Cool to see one in RA2.

What weight class is it?
Don't know how I went and built this without remembering Tirebot, but it's a MW.
Okay but that doesn't count.

12 claws, DSA, 200% ugly gay.

(trov plz)

^I'll think about just using 3 60kg sledges so that the hammers don't stack as much.
(Image removed from quote.)
Worked on this cuhrazy thing (and a stock bot that I'll post in a bit) while GTM was down:

Yes, that's a ford tire over the chassis. The drive motors poke a little bit below the tire. The left wheel normally doesn't do what it's doing in the pics.

PL 10, slimbody drive, TWM2 motor, 3 ants, BFE running rampant.

I like how they didn't go for the "2gritty4u everything is brown" artstyle, and instead made something with colors/squid lolis.

It is indeed "my" way, also known as "Advanced Stacking". I can't really see how it would be illegal though, considering how its just pausing and rotating wildly until the snapper axle flies away.

Well looks like ROK N ROLL MCDONNOLS is screwed right off the bat.

Hey guys, I have to re-add all the dumb avatars/sigs that I had blocked with adblock+ because I just switched over to Chrome Canary. If any one of you has an annoying avatar or sig, feel free to speak up so I can filter it.  :dumb)

Angle the spinners so that the razors can hit things, and you've got yourself a chained FS.

They both have DSA, poker has 3 maces and popup has 3 razors. Poker has HPZ drive, and the popups chassis weighs ~102 kg, that's almost 1/2 the weight of the actual robot.

But what if two met in battle?
