i just realized that burning your opponent earns points in koth matches even if you're not in the center of the arena
I discovered this about two days ago. I didn't think it was particularly relevant, though. One way of doing it would be to count the dings to figure out a true score for a flamebot, but that might be a bit of a convoluted way of doing it.

Has anyone else noticed most things to do with computer hardware, if stated in a certain way, sound like sex?
"Push the jack into the slot, firmly but not too forcefully, so that nothing breaks" "Seat the card in the slot firmly with gentle pressure along the length of the card, especially right about the slot itself"
AND LOTS OF RAM.

Fish before forum.
Good catch, though. Though I know literally nothing about fishing. Truck could use a clean, though.

I was just thinking and though, why doesn't Firebeetle have a colored name?
I dunno. Maybe it's because he's not as active as others, perhaps, and only really posts sparingly. Either that, or most of his stuff goes through Clickbeetle. A coloured name's a little bit pointless, though, he's a very well recognised and respected builder anyway. He doesn't really need one, I don't think.

I don't really like #1 for some reason, I don't know what it is about it. It might be the wheels going through the angled parts of the chassis, it just looks a little bit ungainly for my liking.
#2 looks to me like a DSL kind of bot built in Stock. Shame the stock parts are so fragile, but it's a pretty good build.
#3 ......it's kinda like Pillar of Fire, only not as good. But with the weight constraints, I suppose it's to be expected. Swords aren't used as often as they should be, perhaps.
I'm pretty sure #4 is supposed to be called This Side Up. Interesting idea with the splash, though, gives it some good fun value.
#5 is a decent design, but I think it would work better as a standard rammer. Axles look a bit ungainly, and slightly pointless to me.

putting that many razors on a bot is unrealistic and would never be done in real life
Well said, Sparkey. =) This definitely falls under the category of "Weapon Spam", though. One spike does a lot more damage than lots of spikes.

That looks very nice indeed. Especially the tassel-y thing on the front. Also the modded extenders. "IT IS FORTIFIED WITH ZORGANITE".

It's clearly not an IRL bot. If this is allowed, then I feel like I should be allowed to put in Iron Oxide with invincible caster armour. It's clearly not a flipper either, as the iron spikes prevent the opponent from going up the wedges any distance at all.

Right beside the snapper (based on the pic, snapper on the left & batt on the right).
Correct. I was quite lucky to get the chassis the right shape and size to fit the Nifty, SnapperII and four casters, and just be on the weight limit. Bonus invisible cookie to anyone who can guess the setup.

Concept time, with a 1WD LW SnS. 248.9, DSA, Nifty. 4 casters, 1 on each corner. Sort of scuttles around when it's inverted. Took a couple of goes to get the setup how I wanted.

At least it was a fair fight this time. Good match, Urjak. I just hope I can take third place this time.

Also, you can't make a chain of extenders too long, for example, connecting a few 120 cms.
That's the maxsphere, and you get a warning about that. The extender hovers on the AP of the other one, but it turns red, and you get a warning at the bottom of the screen. With the rule of seven, there is no warning at all, the component just moves over the other component without snapping to any of the AP's of that component at all.

It's what's known as the "Rule of Seven", which basically means you can't attach more than 7 components in a row. You can branch off in multiple directions, though, like with most 36HS setups. It's a part of the game mechanics which helps reduce lag. You can circimvent it with BFE, however, but not in-game.

But why did my bot turn straight in front of SM at the beginning? Was it AI error or something?
My best guess is it was avoiding the hazards. In exactly the same way as Hairline Fracture was when it drove itself directly into the wall. The thing is, after what happened to me when I reached this stage last time, quite a lot of why I decided to actually enter this time was due to GRW explicitly telling me that the hazards would be turned OFF in the RW Arena, which I have quoted in my previous post. I think I have a right to feel cheated, and I'm actually both wanting and expecting him to turn the hazards off and film the matches again.

You could rotate the disc on the bottom around so it doesn't do that. Or enlarge it with the weight saved from losing the Alu extenders. You might need to axle load the wheel on, but it should work.

Quite an obivous klone, but a very effective bot. Probably. How does it work when it's inverted?

1) Why did my robot drive straight into the wall at the start? 2) Just make sure the hazards are turned off this time.
For the RW Arena only they will be.

No, you just have to make an IRL Stock bot. Anything you like, provided it's realistic, i.e. no eFFeing, Stacking, Axle or Snapper Loading, and so forth.
