Trying out 123's wedge theory.

(Image removed from quote.)
Pretty lame but it works fairly alright. Tips forward quite a lot but the wedges are pretty good.

The theory was that the center AP's of the skirt hinge work best.
Hmm. In my own testing the wedge works pretty well still but I'll change it later.
You're right, but he also tried a type of wedge in where the wedge was more against the ground, holding the front of the bot up, and that outwedged everything if I read that right (not sure if that's what madman was going for)

These last 4 posts feel like Deja Vu to me... meh.

I think I'd be a Dark/Steel type... Moves would be Astonish, Iron Tail, Protect, Dark Ball (I think it's called Dark Ball...)

I may as well put what iTunes thinks as well, in order;

7. Duncan Hill's Coffee Jingle - Dethklok - 68 plays
11. I Tamper With the Evidence at the Murder Site of Odin - Dethklok - 57 plays (I am sad that this is below Duncan Hill's Coffee Jingle)
12. Feuer Frei - Rammstein - 55 plays
21. Aces High - Iron Maiden - 50 plays

I think this has already changed a bit, since I have listened to some of these songs whilst typing this, but oh well.
These are some damn good songs, son... Damn good songs  :gawe:

My Re-Volt will no longer work  :FFFUUU
wait it uses 3ds max, the 3d program ra2 uses ? does that mean you could (theoretically) try to import stuff from revolt into ra2 ?
Theoretically, yes. Except, the bot's weapons wouldn't work, most of the bots would have to be limited to 4 wheels and 4 wheels only unless you're pro at coding the parameters, all the bots would have to have wheels that steer or else it risks looking stupid while turning (Mostly like a Gmod vehicle that uses jets to steer instead of the natural system) and most of the arenas for RA2 wouldn't make any sense into Revolt (There's no Combat mode (Unless someone wants to make a mod of one :P))

Meanwhile, the other way around (Revolt into RA2) could work but how many times would you want to use a racing track for RA2? Besides, importing vehicles into RA2 would make no sense because it's all one model, bots are a amalgam (I think that's the right word) of various parts.

Point still remains, you theoretically could, people import things from GTA3, NFS, Carmageddon and all sorts other car-related games into Revolt and it usually makes sense.

I just got this. So fun.

And car skins/custom track you guys would recommend?

On RVZT, look for track reviews with high ratings, those are usually the best.

Quake for example, is a beautifully done map based on a building that has been damaged due to an Earthquake. It's one of the best maps to date, the scenery is BEAUTIFUL and the racing flow is amazing.

Helios is another map I'd recommend. I don't play it much but it has a very clean racing flow and can be rather challenging at times too. Bit of a boring scenery but you won't notice, you'll be too busy trying to pass a Toyeca or something, lol.

Centercross 1 and Centre Cross Circuit are two tracks I'd recommend. The racing flow is not the best, but they're stupid fun to race on.

RCDream is a much less known track, but the racing flow is outstanding and it's very well made, I recommend it.

As for cars, go crazy. There's this person on RVZT named "Halogalanda" or "Halogaland". I don't know his/her gender, but his/her cars are very beautifully done and are fairly fast and fun to drive. I love his/her cars.

Edit: Here's some cars to start you out.

Pole Poz F1 - Pretty fast, overall good looking. Fun to drive.

Phantom Corsair - Good handling, absolutely beautiful. One of my favorites.

El Nino - One of the easiest cars to drive, albeit being extremely fast. Will turn on a dime.

Just reposting for you, Badnik

Excuse me kind sir, could you please direct me toward the part of the forum that does not resemble a deep maggot infested chasm, perchance?

It seems that you consider walls as exits.

If you don't win in 3-5 minutes, then it's either a stalemate or you've just lost... But anyway 3 ants is perfect for such a bot and 4 ants to just play it safe is pretty fair too, but like 9 ants on a bot with just 3 spin motors is just overkill.

So I was going to post the second bot, and issue that challenge, but I don't like that idea anymore. Nah, that'd be too easy for me.

Instead, I'll ask this; Is there any Paint.NET bot skinning or something guide out there on GTM? I ducking duck at skinning but I'd love to make a sexy looking bot without having to use the actual textures...

Not bad for a first bot, IRL or not.

Should probably make it invertible (aka to where it can drive or move up-side-down), in the case of wheel choice, I'll give you this guide.

https://gametechmods.com/forums/index.php/topic,5739.0.html It has basic stuff in there like power, drive (meaning motor + wheels) and so on. For other advice I'll leave it to better builders than I.

The 140 kg's of missing weight on that HW might be your death... even if it is grippy I'd assume the majority (lel) of flipper bots would be built to weight and have just as strong of a burst motor, or even stronger. It's also really easy to outwedge, but if you flip it from the front, the way the chassis is set up and weight distributed idk if it's possible to flip it up and over, I'd imagine the back would get in the way, and make the front go in the air only so much, I dunno. The wideness of it will help against SS/SnS however, so that's a good thing, I guess.

The MW should be pretty good and solid in combat, don't see much problem with it. Underweight though.

The BW is lacking quite a bit; the wedge is gonna suck more or less, the top rack thingy is sort of pointless, it's like 30 kg underweight which, see above, and the greatest killer of them all is it's not invertible. Self-righting in such a competition would be much too dangerous, because there's like a second or so of airtime involved that gives the opponent just enough time to drop everything and shove you with no restraint and depending on your luck, that could be your death.

Two bots, one challenge for ye peoples.

Meet Assassiness, a MW IRL Rammer thingy. Ain't she pretty? Say Yes. She'll punch out all of your blood and break your spine if you say No. She's got a full set of ti3 armor, with details that would make Da Vinci cry, and then battle scars that would make him cry even more.

Look at that booty. Most of the weight is on the front of her, the Double teeth acting as casters, sort of. Because the teeth are so close to the ground, and they're well... weapons... it's sort of hard to out-wedge her by traditional IRL wedginess standards, and if you wanna try, have fun losing your wedges  ;) And if you've got a chassis wedge... May the lord be merciful on your soul  :gawe:

Insides. 3 or 4 ants, Hypno wheels, TWM3R's. Beautiful piece of machinery, she is. It's funny, the double edged teeth are the only things that do damage on her, but when they're gone, damage is still done. She's magical...

More insides + her beautiful blades.

Anyway, a few problems. The Flipper makers are weak and the entire front piece can be destroyed in a few very lucky swings, she's very susceptible to vertical hammers, SS, and fighting flipper bots can be a hassle, because she's neither invertible nor self-righting. That being said, it's hard to get under her unless you're behind her, which creates another problem, her back is very exposed. On the good side, she's very very grippy, maneuverable, fast and the wheels are hard to knock off.

I'll post the second bot after a few comments.

Is that... an IRL SHW? o _ o
They're pretty common.
Yeah, I just only realized how stupid that made me sound... But still I think that's the only IRL SHW that I've actually seen that actually looked like a SHW.

Meh, I've gone insane. The SHW looks cool.

dsl bars, beater bars, something less giant. take a look at real spinners and try to emulate their style. don't tell me you cant. i've seen how good at cloning you are.
Take a look at Tornado Mer, that's the best example I could give you. Your weapon setup would be great for a tribar thingy like Son of Whyachi, but it's unfitting for something that's more like Tornado Mer, which is again the best example I can give you.

and sort of the only one at the moment... lol

Looks like Mortis, The Judge and Death Warrant all had a baby. Lovin' the paintscheme.

I take it you're a Twisted Metal fan :D  You should try doing a Sweet Tooth themed bot if you haven't already, maybe even Minion or Darkside :D

stop posting like goldenfox, you are confusing me
quality posting by a moderator.

Basically, I said it looks like Mortis and The Judge were mixed together and given a Death Warrant paintjob, I asked him if he's a fan of the Twisted Metal series, and then suggested he make other, more popular Twisted Metal-themed bots, and then named 3 of the most distinctive vehicles from Twisted Metal.
