I don't really like #1 for some reason, I don't know what it is about it. It might be the wheels going through the angled parts of the chassis, it just looks a little bit ungainly for my liking.

I wasn't trying to sway votes, Fracture, I just didn't like your bot very much. It's not really the sort of thing I would build. Although it was quite wierd when I started out getting good in BOTM, people were thinking I was either Pwnator or Sage.

Top one is suck, delete it from your hard drive immediately. Bottom one's fairly decent. What you might want to do is downgrade from a Blackvolt to a Nifty, you're eating up quite a lot of weapon/defense weight with powering the thing. Rotate the tribar extenders 90 degrees, so both weapons hit at the same time. If you lost the casters and added a plow instead, that would hopefully leave you enough weight to swap some of the razors for maces. The SnapperII is a godsend for bots like this, though, take a look at my Death By Purple series if you like, to see what you can come up with/get away with.

If you've got a one above, one below situation with the BA's there, I might consider switching to razors (I reckon you could get 8 on there), and then putting maces on the ends. That will give wider coverage than irons, and help prevent HS getting to the chassis.

Casters seem a bit pointless to me. You could get rid of them, and maybe swap the ice picks on the side for irons.

Seven, being an odd number, just makes everyone annoyed.
I think Natef came up with the theory that it's actually eight components in series, but the chassis is the first "component". It does make sense when you think about it, as 8 is 2^3, thus a binary computer would probably understand it a little easier. Plus, since the game begins counting at zero, what with Bot0, Team0 and so forth, the chassis would then become the "zeroth" component in the chain, allowing for seven components to be attached to it in a chain.

Just a heads up, you'll need to make sure you've got Sage's Skin pack with all the components. I haven't got the Blue Snapper for some reason, and I need to use Sage's black one. Most of my bots crash the game if you don't have it.

Aging is mandatory. Maturing is optional. =D Though is preferred around here.
