Just don't get too paranoid - not everyone is out to get you.

Sucks when life gets in the way.  If I'm ever down in Texas, I'll be sure to drop by.

A-Kill.  This was a heck of a job, but should look pretty good when it falls apart in battle.  Blood tipped thumper ftw?

This seems like a sudden and rather short timeframe.  I've got college work that'll keep me occupied for way past the deadline, otherwise I'd try and figure something out.  What exactly is your "action cam" that's being offered as a prize?

I want to see two giant robots beat the sh*t out each other.

So do I, which is the reason I'm complaining about this show.

Yep.  Crazy as it sounds, I liked the special effects on Red Dwarf better when they were cheap and primitive.

The problem is that animatronics don't impress people like they used to.  The house robots were engineering wonders that look amazing when you see them live, but they're nothing compared to what CGI can give us.

Saw Point.  It goes all Tokyo Drift when it reverses.

Well guys, kind of a hit a ditch here:
What do I modify in the .bot file to rotate this damn motor 90 degrees?

https://gametechmods.com/forums/index.php/topic,11658.0.html this works like a charm.  Also consider moving the skirt hinges with BFE'ing

Looks ridiculous, thought it might be a Battlebots thing but can't see this lasting more than a season. Someone should just take a film crew down to the local robot fighting organisations and make a Trans World Robot Combat show.

Totally agree, but I'll torturedly begrudgingly admit that this is better than nothing.

Brimstone is the one I'm backing, seems like the most practical of the bunch.

Look for the lines 'Material_shine" and 'Material_shinestrength' and there should be a decimal number indicating the amount of shine.  0.5 is enough to make your texture near-impossible to see.

Heh, now I'm glad I tested it with "Nikita Kruschev" and not my own name.  What does the Russian text say?  I Google Translated it but it didn't make any sense

Discussion / Re: Roll Hoop
« on: January 27, 2013, 01:36:56 PM »
Anyone been able to make an effective roll hoop? I don't really want to have a srimech as the motor will use more power.

Possibly a hoop made out of 22.5 anglers; the ones I've made work about 75% of the time. They break pretty easily though, so not worth the weight expenditure IMO.

But now that I think about it, you could probably do it with a large DSL disc jutting out of the top, assuming the bot is small enough that the disc encompasses everything.

Bro, you've been doing a fair bit yourself.  So this'll be like the Cold War standoff and you're Gorbachev.  Now you'd better think twice about hitting that button.

Do I have to follow "Fallout" to like it?
