Going against the flow may be a little more work, but at least you don't constantly live in your own poop.

WTF? Castle Guard has a max speed of 12m/s? That makes no sense!

Invertible:True: if your bot is invertible, then put that on the bindings-it will be able of driving inverted.

Range: If an enemy bot will get closer than the Range to Castle Guard, it will spin.

Radius: Determines how close your bot will get to an object (wall, hazard, or opponent bot) before it's drive shuts off.

Topspeed: 12,: Limit of the forward/reverse speed, here 12 m/s

Throttle: 100 (per cent) is max throttle you can achieve with a analog control, so 120
(per cent) is some kind of cheating

Turn: - maximum analog value AI will attempt not to exceed (default 60)Dunno.

Turnspeed: Limit of the angular speed, here 5 radians/second (1 radian = 360/2pi degrees= 57,3 degrees, means that CG will make one turn in 1,25 seconds at his maximum spin speed)

Weapons: This must contain each weapon's component number, determined simply by the sequence during assembly. Purpose: If you run the right AI.py, then if your bot loses these weapons, it will change Tactics from whatever attack mode it is stock, unto Ram, or Shove,.... (BTW: The number is just a generic component number; the comp doesn't know what kind of component that number is. So you could also use it for non-weapon components.)

I think it's this but not sure.

I need to finish that AI.py guide.  CB editted his part, I did mine, I'll check with Starcore, to see where the buck stopped.  Then to Goose and it'll be done.

General Support / Limit to number of AI bots?

Yea, people often change the number of Teams or Bots in a Team, without editting the 'Teams.txt".

Bye the way, madiaba, you say you had 90 teams, but in events, do the program select from all thoses,it seems that it only select from the 16 first ones?
[/COLOR]
Yes, Phil that's true (but actually first 15 AI Teams, cause the User is the 16th for the Event tourney). So I wrote a DOS Batch file that rotated the Teams in sets of 15, thus gaining access to all AI 90 Teams for Events.
All are there for Exhibition, no prob.
I've given it to several (Starcore, Trovaner, Sage,... to use), and I was thinking of 'canning' it, and then putting it up for general download. But I thought too many would mess up the RA2 directory installing it,.. though it's not that difficult at all.

(BTW: I did the same for the bots in the Teams, because as you probably know, in the Events the exe doesn't see the last 3 bots).

dont you just have to add the team file to the bindings? thats what i think i did a long while ago....
Yes, that's a given...    Well it's actually the bot's info line.

Jules, I'm not quite sure what your asking, but there's no limit to the amount of AI Teams you can have.  I have 90 AI Teams presently.

Are you adding new teams with bots, or just trying to add bots?

Duck, there's a general rule in RA2's construct:
The GMF contains the OBJECTS of an arena (or component).
The Python contains the DYNAMICS of the arena.

Get on MSN or Yahoo IM and I'll help you out more if you need.

« on: September 04, 2008, 07:09:59 AM »
SD, Use the programs Nar mentioned (esp Photoshop). Then read up on the tga "Alpha channel'. Venko was doing a tutorial on it,... don't know if he's done yet. These are common in RA2.

R18, If you've something new and of content (more that 'LOL') you may at times need to DP to show others that there's something new to look at; esp on your own thread.

Get this: 'Reason over rules.' Rules are 'external restrains' like leashes; they're for dogs who as of yet lack intrinsic self-control... So use your head (unlike Hydro).
