I'm gonna go to sleep now. It's 11PM over here, I feel like I'm gonna throw up, and I got school tommorow.
Oh yeah, that took like 20 minutes to write up. 20 mintues I could've spent sleeping... Ugh... My Stomach... 1403
Discussion / Simple Wheel/Motor Logic« on: February 08, 2012, 04:51:31 PM »
OK, there's been stuff in NAR AI, and in showcases, to do with wheels and motors that have been bugging me as of late, specifically, the relation between the two. So, I decided to sort out the whole wheels, motor thing as simple as possible, in Leyman's Terms. Here we goo~
1. For the love of crap, don't use non drive motors for drive. Only use NPC-T64's (And their fast variant) Astroflights, Copals, Slimbodies, E-Tek Drive Motors, and TWM3R Drive Motors. All the rest are for weaponry's sake, so don't use them on the drive. Please. 2. Hypno Wheels aren't as good as you think. Now, I might be hung for this, but it's my opinion. After quite a bit of testing, I realised something. Let's say that We have two motors, a Copal and an Astro. Now, we're gonna try out 3 wheels on each motor, and see what comes out fastest. The results go: 1st - Astro - Hypno Wheels 2nd - Astro - Micro Wheels 3rd - Astro - Wide Ant Wheels 4th - Copal - Hypno Wheels 5th - Copal - Micro Wheels 6th - Copal - Wide Ant Wheels Now, you're probably wondering why I'm telling you this: Of course they would be the results. Well, it's down to the weight. 1st - Astro - Hypno Wheels - 35KG 2nd - Astro - Micro Wheels - 30KG 3rd - Astro - Wide Ant Wheels - 25KG 4th - Copal - Hypno Wheels - 29KG 5th - Copal - Micro Wheels - 24KG 6th - Copal - Wide Ant Wheels - 19KG You'll notice, from 4 to 3, the weight actually DROPS by 4KG, and is also faster, meaning that Copals with Hypnos are pretty much rendered useless. Other combos that are useless are: Copal - Hypno Astro - Hypno (Beaten by Slimbodies with Wide Ants, at 33KG, compared to Astro - Hypno's 35KG) Slimbodies - Micro AND Hypno (Beaten by TWM3R's with Wide Ants, at 38KG, compared to Slimbodies - Micro's 38KG - Weight is same, speed is faster.) TWM3R's - Micro AND Hypno (Beaten by NPC- T64 with Wide Ants, at 43KG, compared to TWM3R'S - Micro's 43KG - Weight is same, speed is faster.) NPC-T64 - Micro AND Hypno (Beaten by NPC-T64 Fasts with Wide Ants, at 48KG, compared to NPC-T64 - Micro's 48KG - Weight is same, speed is faster.) That's where the rate ends. Upgrading to E-Teks after this is pointless because they're so bloody huge, but if you're building like a SHW, or a UHW, go right on ahead and use E-Teks. They're the best option for the weight class. And that's all~ 1404

I came back from testing this.
You can get a Dual Perm to spin at full speed in DSL using this trick. Don't use this trick for drive; it won't work, unless you have a bumble ball. 1405

Hey everybody. I was dicking around in RA2, and I found a new glitch. I don't really think it's helpful, but it might be, IDK. I don't know if it can be performed in DSL, but I'll try it later.
1. Go to the bot lab, and build a new bot. 2. Place an internal or external HP Z-tek on your robot. 3. Place a control board, but DO NOT place any batteries. 4. Go to the Wiring menu, and there, set two buttons. Make it so both buttons have it to spin the motor clockwise. 5. Place something on the motor, such as a disc, tribar, or other thing. 6. Go to the testing area, and hammer the two buttons to spin the motor clockwise rapidly and repeatedly. 7. You should notice the motor begin to spin on it's own, with no battery. 1406
