Epic paint splash skills for the win!

Enjoy! My first ever +15min video on youtube uploaded in 720p for clearer viewing :) Sorry that there is no fancy splash work or anything but you should all know these robots by now and it would take ages to make one for every MW in the AI pack.

1403
Negative, I'm trying out a new kind of tournament where every bot battles for most wins. Each battle is a battle to face the next on the list, so every single MW in the Ultimate Stock AI pack (except a few that have weight issues for some unknown reason) will have at least 1 match.

Also I'll be uploading large videos with a lot of matches in a row, I figure this sort of tournament is best suited for 30mins+ videos so you can follow the robot your cheering for (possibly) without interruption.

I felt like starting a winner stays series using the Ultimate stock AI pack, I will be going top to bottom using every MW in the pack to see which robot gets the most wins in a row. Any predictions?

a few tips:

*Always build to the weight limits - 790-800 for heavyweight bots.
*There are multiple attachment points on most items that you can place parts on or use the different points to place the part differently.
*Turning weapons like razor tips and iron spikes will allow you to place them right next to each other on the same extender, just turn it 360 degrees until the part lights up.

It should be noted that axes have normals meaning they only deal damage with the bladed edge. Iron spikes, Maces and razor tips deal damage from every location making them the most popular weapon choices.

ian, he said that multiple installs and restarts didn't work, so neither will your suggestions.

I thought he meant game restart.

if my previous suggestion doesn't work you should check your processes tab in task manager for any RA2 program running and end it.

Try a fresh install, just copy teams, AI and robot design folders (plus any others you want to backup).

It's been done before most likely but...

Battering Lamb decides it isn't worthy.... just in time too.

Thoughts? are the extenders to fragile to use like this? is the worth using fragile extenders for the extra 7kgs? will this setup be less, equal or more damaging?

I really like the idea of putting interchangeable weapons on a bot, it should be done more often IMO.

Not interchangeable, just showing the weight saved by using extenders instead of a disc. You can save about 9kgs per disc :)

I'm still messing around with the design but it's pretty effective, I suggest people start experiment with using extenders on spinners as you'll have more weight to play with.

1413
Gave the extender disc a better and lighter setup and got this Rammer/VS hybrid:

6 razors, 4 irons, 1 single-sided ice pick, 1 nifty, plastic armour.

Only just lost first try against S4a TF, most important thing is the disc extender came out with all weapons still on. Got KO'd from chassis hits which should be easy to fix by angling the extenders with 2 razors up.

3x 20cm extenders= 6kgs
lightest disc = 15kgs
----------------------
Save 9kgs per disc!

I wonder why people don't use extenders instead of tribars/discs... I'll probably never use them again lol (except on chained spinners because of rule of 7).

Quark doesn't look very effective. It's only scoring sub-100 hits.
a lot of ants dont score big hits constantly

i think the most ive seen an ant dish out is maybe 200-250 with 3 razors

FBS ants can still score well over 100 per hit.

1. I doubt it would be effective, also it's a box with wheels, motors and extenders. You see a bunch of those everywhere.
I dunno with an iron spike replacing the wedge it could be effective at crawling over other AW's and damaging their tops.
2. Hoverboard. I would of voted for it, but flames on a white background aren't my thing.
So you don't like the paint job but like the bot? number 4 doesn't even have a visible chassis lol.
4. Quite unique, and probably very effective. Gets my vote.
The only thing unique is that the wheel is placed on it's side. Not combat effective in most tourneys cause it wouldn't even be able to enter.

that's the shameful thing, you can build something very creative without bot editing and lose to something generic that uses bot editing.
how is quark generic

To me it's generic, it's just another spinner where you smack on as many weapons as possible. Also what are the weapons on? an invisible disc? What's the wheel on?

I was going to give every entry their own intro video (sorta like wrestling titantron videos) lol.

i'm definitely interested. you still have the arbbc bots?
afraid not, I asked my dad who has all our old hard drives and he couldn't find any more copies of RA2.

Here are the original Robo Zone bots:

https://gametechmods.com/uploads/files/Robo Zone middleweights.zip
https://gametechmods.com/uploads/files/Robo Zone heavyweights.zip

Where did you find all this stuff? Also the Trident II looks sweet!

Old hard drive from one of our old PC's that died. The sad thing is I was looking for the ARBBC bots and found everything except those and the TTC bots >.<
