Sorry lads! Completely got sidetracked, We've managed to dish out four more robots done in this past week though.
![]() Give Gareth/Garfie a thumbs up because he took the time to do the usual photography work this past weekend despite having Defector's arse smashed in by Matilda. Join me in wishing him the best of luck getting it ready for the Featherweight championships. And also Jarvis with Flow at the champs too. A few more robots are being dropped but a few new (unlisted classic) robots have been taking their places. It just depends on when I Like Tacos can finish sorting out the arena. I should mention, most of the new arenas will be postponed for DLC rather than initial release, just so you guys can get this sooner rather than later. 145

Thank you guys. If it wasn't for you guys being consistently supportive of the production of this Mod and the odd personal matters then we wouldn't have kept the strength up to continue this. Thanks again everyone!
Finally with the help of Daleksec7, we've managed to roll this out of the workshops. Is Matthew Pearmans new featherweight 'Boneyard.' EDIT: Which Jarvis Actually designed for him in the first place! The design has changed drastically throughout it's construction and this model is based on a particular 'moment' during it's build. ![]() ![]() 148

Thanks lads really appreciate it. It's fine, it was expected but any death takes it's toll on you innit? I'm just looking after my family and helping with funeral planning ect. So many phone calls and everyone has a depressive tone so it's hard to perk up.
If I catch a break I'll try and finish off the next robot before the funeral. Longest this break will be is probably 2 weeks. And things gets worse, there's plenty of rum in the cupboard! Woop. 149

Redace, cheers mate! Late happy birthday to you too haha. No the logo isn't on the top polycarbonate panel anymore, I quite like it without. It's still full of character I think.
Ian, Dezox, I did have the AI version with a static front and the RD version with a servo powered lifter so it can lift from either way up but it wasn't low enough to get enough everything and it jiggled when it came into contact with objects because of the angle. So I've changed it over to a lifter burst and it works brilliantly as a rambot, getting underneath stuff easily. Badnik, of course. ![]() Impossible343, they are robots that we haven't yet acquired permission for and may get the axe if we can't track them down. But it does need updating! JD, Steak, Alex. Sorry I've had a mate over for the past week and it was my birthday on Sunday so I've been a bit busy. Toast, I'll be including pretty much everything people will need to work from in the Mod download so people can create their own realistic textures. :)

The top panel was taken from a snippet of the TR2 texture, the scratches I photoshopped and reused from Meggamouse, the wedge texture is taken from TR2's flipper and the weld lines are taken from Ripper's flipper before it was painted, the name on the top is textured font plonked in and the number 9 was drawn up on Inkscape which is the program I normally use to make brass etch artwork.
The program I've used is Paintshop Pro 8. At the end of the day, to make a good texture, you have to build yourself a good database of photographs to steal segments from. So all in all, you're all right, thanks for the comments guys. ![]() 153

I Like Tacos has been making some brilliant progress already guys so watch out for an update from him on the new arena, the first new arena that will actually make it into the game!
So, after so many months... Just been getting used to using the program again. It's taken me bloody hours to do this, so I need to get back to my regular pace. Photographs weren't provided for the skin this time so a lot of time went into creating this skin from scratch! I'm not thrilled with it to be honest, what do you guys think of it? ![]() 154

Modifications / Re: Robot Wars RA2 - OFFICIAL MOD« on: January 16, 2015, 07:36:56 PM »Probably that some idiot dosent want his bot in the promotional stuff, but the rights have gone over to Robot Wars LLC and he now is just being a git. Bingo. Nate, thing is the person who actually built the robot has already said yes and the version of the robot in the game is modelled on the period when he owned it. Because he is the builder, we would've taken his opinions into account if he didn't want it in the game even though the contract says we have the upper hand. However, the person who owns it now is making a fuss because he tried to blackmail us to use his stuff as advertising for him which, we are not meant to do. This guy does not have the right to overpower the builder's word, the contract or us... Especially over a blackmail. What's worse is that he said he wanted it in the game before we made it.... Funny how his mind changes when he doesn't get what he wants? If I made Ripper in game before it was Dystopia, and John Findlay gave me permission to do so and Gareth said he didn't want it in the game. Then Gareth wouldn't have that right, it's the same situation here. Ps. The reason why stuff may change in the mod because of this however is because we might be restricting ourselves to what goes in the game or not, so we don't have a real case on our hands where the actual builder says that he doesn't want the bot in the game. So basically a few classics we don't manage to get permission for will be removed. Possibly including Chaos 2 and Hypnodisc which would be a shame. But we are trying our best to track down the builders. |
