Finally put all my stuff back on my shelfs after repainting my room

Nope, sorry
Hm, I thought the isle of sheppey was renowned in kent for being a horrible place.

Anyone (other than me) going to Maidstone?
You were at Maidstone 4 years ago??? Dude thats where I go every year!
I've been there the past 3 years (maidstone is only down the road from me), as has haz although he doesn't really come here any more.
15 mins away 4 me
edit: actually, 15 mins away from getting to Mote Park
It's about the same for me, I'm on Sheppey if that means anything to you.

Real Robotics Discussion / Re: Does this sound like a good design?
« on: February 21, 2014, 10:22:01 AM »
Bouncing doesn't happen on rotating discs irl, depending on the design of the disc a bot would just get flung in the direction the disc was rotating, sawblades aren't generally effective anyway since grinding isn't an effective method of attack most of the time, blunt tooth discs are generally more effective (in the uk anyway)

The finished product:

Looks like someone strapped a chopstick to a stick of butter, bar needs to be thicker and the design is pretty boring IMO, not bad for a first try though.

Looks decent if a bit bland, the sheet looks a bit flimsy as well but you can't really do anything about that.

Update time, the cluster is all here, I can't start building the chassis until next weekend though. I have however been repainting minor tom over the past 2 days.

The body is still drying until it's ready for another coat.

Needs less teeth on the disc, would make it easier to get a bite.

The spike looks extremely flimsy. Other than that it's meh.

Progress has been made, batteries are being sent, motors are ordered, going for a 10mm hdpe lid now, escs' are on the way, all I need now is a charger and I'll be good to go with the build.

153
pretty much my only choice right now
Learn Sketchup? It's really not that hard to do.

1st one needs more drive and better wheels, use an me rather than a bp anchor, there might be a better weapon choice than that as well but I'm not sure.
2nd one needs much less empty space, get rid of the dsl bars on the wedges, use multi extenders always rather than bp anchors, use vlad wheels, upgrade the weapon motor.

Rotate the angled extenders on the ends 90 degrees so they look like they're supporting the axle, other than that it looks nice. Does need a skin though.

It's good to see you're back building again, don't worry about your first feather not being the pinnacle of engineering either, you can't expect your first bot to win the champs really can you.

Get rid of the sheet on the bottom, it looks out of place and extremely flimsy. Otherwise it looks good.

159
I've got a spare key as well if anyone wants it.

I like the extender work on the body but the flipper just looks a bit cluttered and messy.
