Weren't Gabriel Entertainment very stingy about us asking for the source code before?

Regardless, this could either be interesting, or just a big bust like the other attempts to delve into the source code. I'm cautiously optimistic as always.

These guys know what they're doing - either they'll uncover something new, find something we've already discovered, or tell us to bugger off. The 2nd one seems the most likely, if I'm honest, but where there's a will, there's a way.

Some of our experienced guys could act as Quality Control maybe to try and avoid that.

Yeah, but for that, we'd need a comprehensive log of everything that's already found to be NOT in-game, and I'm pretty sure that would take a while.
General knowledge would work here from some of our vets.

Hey! I'm a vet....

I'm just an undecover vet. I'm like Night Rider! Except... not cool... And stupid... :c

Being completely honest, I think you'd be fine to do QC, seeing as you're the one that brought it to our attention.

Off-Topic Discussion / Are Graphics Cards really that important?
« on: October 28, 2013, 02:17:24 PM »
Don't get me wrong, they're one of the main things you should focus on for a gaming PC, but to be completely honest, I'm a lot more focused on the RAM and CPU. Those are the things that actually run the things on your PC and determine what you can and can't do. With Graphics, you can toggle them to your graphics card needs quite easily.

Personally, I believe Gaming PC's to be focused like this: 40% CPU, 40% RAM, 15% Graphics Card and 5% other stuff such as Power Supply and Motherboard.

What are your thoughts on graphics cards?

Nah, it's not the spinning motor thing that normally happens, it just takes multiple clicks to select it regardless of switching tabs.

Fullscreen seems to have fixed it, but I just found something else: It is absolute hell trying to delete stuff inside the bot, requiring multiple clicks to even select them.

General Support / Random RA2 Crashes

So I decided to play around with Stock 1.4 today (AwesumSauce's DL link), and the game has a very annoying tendency to crash randomly and frequently. Is there anyway to avoid these random crashes?

So I finally learnt how to play Spy well today.

The trick is to face your team while walking backwards into enemy territory. 9 times out of 10, nobody bothers to spycheck me, and I get easy backstabs.

9 times out of 10 when I do that I recieve a backstab/pyro/wrench/minigun/jarate/milk/scattergun/ubersaw/grenade/sticky/rocket/shotgun that I couldn't see and either pop my dead ringer to run or pop it and die anyway. :P

You're probably playing with vigilant players then.

First time I actually might be interested in a tournament. I'll be willing to handle M2, but someone else will need to skin it.

Had a run on Doomsday last night for the first time in a while, had a pretty good run as Soldier- stopped them launching the Rocket a few times with my jumps, and I was ultimately able to get For Whom the Shell Trolls* when fighting off a Pyro at the Australium Site.

*Bounce an opponent into the air with a Rocket, and then switch to the Shotgun to kill them before they land.

I was playing that last night. Took over an hour to complete and in the end, I just left.

Well this thread died. How about a game soon?

I'm not a hotshot wiki editor or anything, but I can't see the article relating to be more than a stub.

Still, it's nice to find out about Robot Wars stuff that you hadn't had before.

My skylight is leaking :-(
Worse yet, it's rainy at this time of year :-((
Now there's an ugly white streak of plaster running down my bathroom wall :-(((

I'd double check that's plaster, just to be sure.

DSL 3 getting released is news to me. I might actually toy around with RA2 when my new computer arrives on Tuesday.

So yeah, making my random visit here. Might stick around this time, but I've said that the last 2 times.

EDIT: Fill me in on the last 6 months.
Noodle died and I joined.
Anything important I meant.

Interesting turn of events.

Also, I've decided not to troll, and I might make some bots soon if I get bored. Must have been highly strung at the time or something.
