Hooker beater... :laughing

Note that he sounds slightly different... pretty much thanks to that hooker biting a piece of his tongue off.

I have a few pretty much ready to go as is. I just need to do some slight tweaking and my robot will be completely ready... TO FAIL!

I got an award!? Whoa, nelly!

Then again, I'm happy that it was beating FOTEPX silly in the Middleweight Finals of BB3.

replace the ramplates with snowplows

Hell, he really doesn't need either of them with that weapon setup. Lose the side armor and get more battery power.

My robot is in, just waiting for Natef to get his in... provided we're still partners.

If not... Preytor- you, me, and many beatings to follow for the rest?

To the Middleweight Predictions!

Scar Spangled Banner: What would've been considered a mediocre LW is now a pitiful MW. The chassis is begging to be hit, and a few good whacks to the JX motor will turn the robot into robo-chow.
Taur 2: Beautiful design, and plenty quick I bet as well. However, I do fear the lack of weaponry will be its downfall, especially against the vertical spinners here.
Bullfrog: Alright design and weapon, though I fear if anyone gets under it, it'll turn into a bumblebot until its dead or its opponent is dead.
Tracer Bullet: Nice and pushy, though I wonder what would happen if its gets stranded on its weapon...
Angered Mystery 2: Better than Tracer Bullet on the weaponry, though much worse on its chassis. Any robot with the ability to get under it will make it submit in no time flat.
In the Sign of Evil: Solid Tombstone design, though it doesn't have much in the way of guarding those rather large Tazbot wheels from getting hit.
bloodredflags: Okay weapon and nice looks, but I do worry what would happen if either the weapon comes off or the segmented armor comes off.
Black Banshee: Good looks, though the Hworf blades may be a touch on the cheap side. Also, wedges can end the run for it as well.
Tragedy: My 2nd favorite robot of the bunch; great design, great weaponry, and a good chance of going all the way.
With a Purpose: MUCH better than Top Comment, though the weight from the Overkill wedge gives me a slight worry that it won't be able to keep up for the full time.
Society's Outcast v3: Fast, powerful, but with fragile weapons. Once the Heavy DS teeth come off, it'll be toothless aggression from this one.
Ironside Mk V: My favorite bot by far. It's just... BEAUTIFUL... not to mention the weaponry.
Sir Lance-a-Frog: Nice robot, but as seen in Battlebots 4, it's much too easy to avoid the weapons altogether and go for the kill.
Crimson Blades: Hopefully, the robot has been cured of the constant flips it endured in Battlebots 4. Otherwise, a quick exit may follow.
SkidMark: May not be the best looking robot here, but it has shown its pedigree. However, it does show its age a little bit, as I fear that a few robots may have surpassed it.
RUSH: Nice eggbeater weapon, though I wonder if the robot will be cannon fodder if one of its beaters falls off early on.

Bracket Predictions:

Preliminaries:
-Society's Outcast v3 over bloodredflags
-In the Sign of Evil over Sir Lance-a-Frog
-SkidMark over Scar Spangled Banner
-Tragedy over RUSH
-Bullfrog over Angered Mystery 2
-Ironside Mk V over With a Purpose
-Tracer Bullet over Crimson Blades
-Taur 2 over Black Banshee

Quarterfinals:
-Society's Outcast v3 over In the Sign of Evil
-Tragedy over SkidMark
-Ironside Mk V over Bullfrog
-Taur 2 over Tracer Bullet

Semifinals:
-Tragedy over Society's Outcast v3
-Ironside Mk V over Taur 2

My thoughts on the LW bots:

360: I see you made a darn near perfect replica of the British robot there, NFX. However, I can see it suffering the same fate as its British brother against some of the flippers here.
Your Final Croak: Interesting look with all the front armor. However, if one or two of those pieces takes too much damage, it'll just flop around while the opponent just snaps into it like a Slim Jim.
Twilight Scream: Looks a little light on weaponry, even though the 20 to 30 does provide some alright damage. It also works real prone to robots getting under it and having their way with this one.
Patriotism 2: Very Revolutionist, I must say, with lots of armor on top. However, it may suffer from the same problems as 360 if that SRIMECH doesn't work as planned.
Scope: Nice look to the robot, though I'm not sure if the flipper will do too much to keep other robots away from its exposed body.
Slasher: Good weaponry, solid stabilization idea, and at least partial invertibility. As long as it doesn't get flipped into an unwinnable situation, I could see this robot going far.
Forget About It: It is improved compared to his BattleBots 4 entries, though it's still not terribly realistic. It'll do alright until it faces a vertical spinner. Then, its days are over.
Misinformed: Looks like you took Mr. Self Destruct to a lightweight design, and it looks pretty good. If its powered by anything better than a Piglet, this one could go far... barring getting a flipper underneath it and tossing it into a corner.
Spawn of PA: The Rule of Cool reigns supreme here, as it does look like a mini-Panic Attack. However, I fear that body might be a little too prone to attack here and if the robot is outwedged, it's all over.
White Thing II: Great in terms of weaponry... however, I'm slightly worried about the amount of armor it has and whether or not its drive is powerful enough to keep robots on the beaters.
Bully: The first of four returns in the LW division, it still reeks of cheapness. Firestorm flippers are very overpowered as armor and should have probably been changed to something on a more level playing field. As for its chances... it'll have a shot, though I don't know if there will be a repeat of the past coming to it in short order.
Drumbledore: Really good robot that only lost because of the uppercutter in No More Mr. Nice Guy. This robot stands a very good chance of making it back to the finals and claiming the title of Battlebots 5 champion.
No More Mr. Nice Guy: Speaking of the incumbent champ, the robot once again has a real good shot at reclaiming his title- something no robot was able to do in the last competition.
Ironside Mk IV: The last of the returns also yields the best flipper of the bunch- not only is it a good flipper, but its the best protected of the bunch.
Stampede: Looks very nice, but the attempt at trappiness may just make it fodder for anything with a good weapon.
Hammer Metal: A weapon amount the same as Battlebots 3 champ Flood 2... though the strong likelihood is it's obscenely underpowered (mine was powered by a Quad Mag; this? Probably no more than a Mag). It'll be fodder for most of the wedges here, as well as anything with a good weapon.

Bracket Predictions:
Prelims:
-Drumbledore over Forget About It
-Slasher over Hammer Metal
-Patriotism 2 over Misinformed
-Ironside Mk IV over Stampede
-Scope over Spawn of PA
-White Thing II over Twilight Scream
-Bully over Final Croak
-No More Mr. Nice Guy over 360

Quarterfinals:
-Slasher over Drumbledore
-Ironside Mk IV over Patriotism 2
-White Thing II over Scope
-No More Mr. Nice Guy over Bully

Semifinals:
-Slasher over Ironside Mk IV
-No More Mr. Nice Guy over White Thing II

Third Place:
-White Thing II over Ironside Mk IV

Finals:
-Slasher over No More Mr. Nice Guy

(edit: modified to correct robots in the division)

DSL TC Showcases / Re: COOLRUNNER's Craptacular DSL Showcase!

Alright, here's what I've done with it:

-Everything NFX mentioned

Weight's down to 394.4, and it has officially become a BBEANS 4 killing machine. I only couldn't outright destroy Iron Spaghetti since it took one of my wheels. Even with one wheel, I was still beating on it when time ran out (note: it was a shell by the end; no weapons, no flails).

From a realisticism standpoint? A hole could be cut in the sheet for the wheels. Just axle load them and maybe use tornadoes if you have the weight, if vlads are too small.

If I can find a way to shave ~1.5 kg (which may happen if the LDS/beaters are lighter, though I don't think it is), I will likely upgrade to Tornado wheels.

Otherwise, I'll get to it right now.

Swap the irons for beater bars and LDS teeth and try not to stack the ants, use the other AP if you have to.
Turning the sheet so it covers the wheels might help aswell.

1) I'm not stacking batteries. They're just on top of each other, is all.

2) Turning that sheet turns the robot into an unrealistic robot (I'm talking DSL, not IRL, though both fit here).

As for DK, that is another of the weaknesses, though in Two to Tango (where this robot is going) it will likely face pop-ups along the way.

And for the weapon change, I'll need to look into it and see if it is better for me.

Wait... have I not created anything in the past 2 months? Wow. Didn't expect working at Walmart to drain me that much.

Anyway, back to the grind and with it, a new robot. Meet one of my older robots new incarnations, Super Bullseye 3:

The specs:
-NPC T-64's with Vlad Wheels
-10 Iron Spikes powered by 2 Piglets
-4 Ants
-120cm Tite wedge on Hinge
-Dual half sheets on bottom to protect against pop-ups
-Full sheet on top for more protection
-Plastic 3 Armor

Strengths:
-Very heavily armored... in most places
-Trappy, especially if robot is stuck on main wedge

Weaknesses:
-Top sheet can be taken off after a while due to damage
-Slightly unprotected portions of the bottom which could lead to pop-ups getting in their blows
-Unprotected wheels, ripe for the taking

Weight is 396.7 kg, in case you're wondering.

So... any questions? Comments? Rantings about how my bots suck?

153
Isn't Plastic 10 a bit too much in terms of armor? As TRIAS said, you should downgrade the armor and look for some ways to improve the robot.

The biggest one that needs improvement is the need of top and bottom armor. As of now, the robot is pop-up fodder, even with the heavy chassis armor. So, half sheets should do the trick well.

my thoughts on Buddy Lee winning against Turbo:
(Image removed from quote.)

Not really. If you remember the fight, Turbo wasn't doing much of anything beyond damaging Buddy Lee. Buddy kept on pushing and shoving, eventually getting in the shot that turned Turbo into an uncontrollable whirling dervish, and then going on and winning the fight.

The one I have used a few times is Audacity. It's really easy to use, even to a relative audio newbie like I am.

Here's the link for the program:

EDIT: I see we're hiveminding here.

That SnS has such an unnecessarily large chassis and wheels...

However, that would make it more IRL than straight DSL. In fact, the robot would be a decent entry into Battlebots, provided there are places left on the sign-ups.

Squirrel, what type of motors are powering Anvil there? I think they're both Astroflight's (considering Anvil's lethargic driving), but I'm not completely certain.

-Atari 2600 (got in 1995 from uncle)
-Sega Game Gear (got in 1996)
-Apple IIc (got in 1997; came with a whole lot of goodies including a lot of games, a lot of various other software, and a huge dot matrix printer all for $50)
-Sony PlayStation (got Christmas 1997 with Final Fantasy VII and a few demo discs)
-Nintendo 64 (got February of 1998 with Starfox 64)
-Game Boy Color (got Christmas 1998; Pokemon Pikachu special edition, came with Pokemon Yellow)

First off, nice to see a DSL Tournament that isn't IRL after a spat of them.

Secondly, I would like to team up with someone, and I already have a design that I'm working out.
