Entry sent, but I'm not expecting it to do well at all; I suck at IRL building. :P

Ounce: Nuclear Fallout   Don't know it
It won BTTB >.>

but I would agree either that or Paramecium would be considered my signature bot, at least in stock.

GRW has 1% damage, so doesn't that mean he's technically leading?

I feel like the axles are probably hurting it more than helping.
How so?
The vlad spike however, looks like just a bother.
You mean you think it gets in the way of the flippers?  Well, it did have that problem before, but I adjusted it so it doesn't hinder the flippers but still hits the opponent.

I plan to send a MW, but I'm going to be away from RA2 for the whole weekend, and even if signups aren't full when I get back I still don't have a sponsor decal.   ::2mad

do u think i can survive? (i made a alternate skin for the lulz)
Yeah, but you'll probably lose half of your remaining weapons.  Plus those exposed chassis sides have cost you a match already, and it might happen again here.

Alright, I've been trying to get back into DSL building, but I'm still low on ideas of what to build.  Here's one idea that I came up with:

NPC Fast drive, 2 PC545s, 6 ants, 5mm titanium, 2 large JXs, 8 razors, 3 vlad spikes, 2 half-sheets.

It's a flipper with weapons on axles that pop up from underneath the flippers when it fires them.  I would've added more weapons to the axles, but I ran into trouble with the rule of 7, so I used the remaining weight to add a "horn" to the bot to help it deal some damage.  I'm not 100% satisfied with it yet: the weapons have trouble hitting the opponent.  I might swap the razors for something longer, like spike strips, that will allow the weapons to reach the other bot.

Good, but it would be better to use DSL bars to attach the shell panels rather than flippermakers, since they only have 1000 HP each.  Ice picks aren't very good on spinners either.  Also, what armor does it have?

I'm pretty sure Pwn made a 3WD MW rammer in stock a while back, but I don't remember him mentioning if it drove straight.

Anyway, I really don't like the weapon setup.  If possible I would lower the baseplate anchor and stagger the weapon extenders so that some are pointing straight while others are angled slightly upwards.

Shut up Naryar.  Anyway, from my experiences, 3 NPC fasts aren't fast enough for a HW SnS, I suggest getting rid of a few weapons to free some weight for Drive E-Teks.

Looks interesting, reminds me of something I built recently.

Although, is that only 2WD?  If so then I'm pretty sure it needs at least 4WD to be effective.

Discussion / Re: 5 Favorite bot types of all time
« on: August 27, 2011, 12:27:27 PM »
My favorite types differ depending on which game mode I'm playing, but I'll just list my favorite DSL bot types since I can list mine off the top of my head easier:

1. SnS (Has opportunities for strong weaponry as well as hard hits without having to worry much about stability)
2. VS (Powerful weapons and a reliable anti-wedge design, but only if it doesn't use a wedge itself)
3. Rammers/pushers (when done right, superior de-weaponing abilities as well as good, if not excellent defense)
4. HS (Again, powerful weapons, but lower on my list because not as much weight for weapons and (at least with singular HS) they're harder to make stable)
5. Flippers (I don't know why, but it's so satisfying to just throw your opponent around the arena)

To satisfy my addiction to Robot Combat, and to be competitive at the one thing I'm good at
Pretty much this.  I don't know what I'd do if there were no more tournaments to enter.

Maybe he thinks the wedges could be longer?

On a side note I think you can use snapper loading to minimize the space between the 2 snappers, and maybe that will give you weight for more stuff.
