i'm a bit worried that this might get stuck in a stupid way, and while i see that you have taken steps to reduce that, i'm not sure it's enough. like this might get stuck on it's side if you push it in a corner.
possibly but i think that the back of the treads can still move the bot if that happens. i dunno though. i doubt its any worse than the other version and ive really never had it be an issue on that one.
forgot to mention that it was more for the first armored one, the second one doesn't look like it can really get stuck

looks alright. though all this white in the front wedges is weird. if I were you I would stick with a predominantly black, red and green paint job.
i would also make the tail wider, or set it higher so it is more flush with the extender work supporting the motors.
also putting a teeth on the wedge to complete this "biting head" look would be nice. the eye does seem too big to me imo

i know it's irl but it sounds like any good hit on this bot's frontal side parts will rip off the whole weapon system

A DSL-S tournament ? Why n-
oh wait it's ironforge, i have no idea how the meta works
banning SnS seems weird. havok rules might need to be defined better, though by "crash" you mean you can have match-breaking havoks three times before being kicked out or is it something different ?

Outside of nostalgia? Nah, but my nostalgia is a pretty strong motivator, so I do care.
i see us old guard are of one mind

It is. Peaceful is an odd word to define me, though.

I am also looking for teammates. Preferably some of the boomers oldschool dudes that know to build DSL-S.
French team maybe ? lol
Alright, let's go with that.

well, underweaponed is not too much of a concern considering it's more undercutter than HS. it has 68 kg of weapons which is more than most MW popups, sawbots, or such. for a normal HS it'd definitely be, yes.
the single spinner... well, it's part of the design. yeah, i have to struggle against torque. just have to keep under the opponent with quick drive. a more typical juggler design would kill my weapon weight and require more batteries, and pull against the weight requirements for a flipper/top spinner in MW.
and the flipper skirts are the angled ones for sure. else it'd just fail to flip anything if it had flat flippers.
about big love... well, if I ditch the JX, it wouldn't be the original design ? i'd make a self righter but that would include either smaller drive or less armor. and putting the JX burst spikes upward doesn't do much other than selfrighting. besides i'm pretty sure a JX with 100+ kgs of weapons on it isn't going to self right that.
yeah as the design is, it's pretty poor by DSL-S standards. i only made it slightly better overall.

it certainly looks more combat effective that my abomination of a hybrid, lol

two in one day ! more philetbabe inspiration. Big Love v2. I had to go in the darkest, most terrifying parts of the internet to find a skin, then I just used the original bot's skin because it was just a plain texture. 5mm aluminium (really weird choice, yes, but I believe the armors are balanced now.) not a particularly good design metagame-wise, but i always liked the bot itself and there, it's rebuilt. For the record, here's the original bot : i just cleaned it up. tighter chassis, more weapons, removed a bit of chassis armor and it is probably faster too. mine is invertible (surprisingly) but lacks the ability to rear against a wall and self right with the drive only. oh well.

I have no idea how I convinced myself to build, but here it goes. The Machine 2. Heavily inspired by some of Philetbabe's old-school NAR AI designs. The Machine, and Overdose to name them. https://wiki.gametechmods.com/index.php?title=Overdose 3mm plastic. has a WP836E and 2 ant batts. npc fasts. the rest you can see. tested, it's quite decent but man my driving is bad. also I have an intuition that the flipper part isn't that useful, but hell. it's cooler like that. also that gives it a way to get out of wedge locks. ...is standard not dead yet ?

yeah, standard building is pretty much on permanent coma now. "C'est la vie". we can control GTM culture but i think it's a hivemind thing. most builders that come here are familiar with irl, so they build IRL. and most standard builders left or no longer bother with RA2.
and we ARE relics of a bygone age, it's true. but the fact that we still build is still something.
hell, this is making me want to build some DSL-S bots myself. so maybe i'll download all the stuff.
not sure to pick 2.2 or 2.1 though

Well, it's better for armor, but it's too slow now... I guess you have a lot of weapon weight on that weightclass and that doesn't leave lots of weight for other categories.
And I meant external armor. You don't need that much rear/top/back sides armor.

that looks cool.
i actually enjoy irl when it looks cool and isn't more of the same bland, boxy designs.
well that's obviously inspired by razer but you rarely see razer replicas, so it's hardly "more of the same"
