Wow, way to post an urban legend in a factual thread about the horror that is the Rake... "My turn for story time! Big Foot!" Would've been more appropriate. Besides, if I'm not mistaken I believe the title of this thread is "The Rake.", not "The Rake... and over-glorified urban legends."... Hijacking the thread won't save you from The Rake's cold rusted fingers, R0B0SH4RK... I pray he claims you as his first victim on this night...

Well, I'm sorry that this sounded like every other single urban myth about a cryptid I've ever read. I didn't know an internet story that I've read before could be taken as indesputable fact. I completely understand that you had a freaky experience surrounding this story (I'd be scared too), but did you really have to say that you basically hope I die? That seems kinda harsh :(

EDIT: I'm sorry Moonbear if you did think that I was trying to hijack your thread. I wasn't. You shared a creepy story, so I thought I should too (:

Nope. The chicken glitch only makes the axle spin super fast, sometimes causing it to come out of the socket. It also works better with more linear components, not a mace. The wheels work on a similar principle to the Nasty Pickle glitch. When the wheels are much larger than the chassis, the bot gets glitchy. Make a tiny chassis and put comparatively large wheels on it and see for yourself.

My turn for story time!

The Jersey Devil

A teenage girl in southern New Jersey was left alone for the weekend while her parents went to the casinos in Atlantic City. On Saturday night, a terrible storm swept into the area. A heavy rain pounded on the roof. The wind rattled every window. And a bolt of lightning had knocked out the power in three counties.

All alone in a dark house lit only by candles, the girl was very frightened. But she had her dog with her - a big golden retriever. He wasn't exactly a killer, but at least he was comforting.

When she was ready to go to sleep, the girl took the dog into her room with her and had him lay down on the floor beside her bed. Every time the thunder crashed above her house, she awoke and reached down her hand. "You still there, Boo?" The dog would lick her hand and was reassured that she was not alone. Eventually, she fell into a deep sleep.

At about six the next morning, something dripping in the bathroom woke her. Assuming it was the tap, she climbed out of bed and went down the hall. Entering the bathroom, she was confronted with a horrifying and grisly sight. There was her dog, hanging by its neck from the shower head. Scrawled in blood on the mirror beside it was the message "The Jersey Devil can lick hands, too."

ACAMS makes a good point, but I think we all have to understand that you simply cannot compare builders past and present. Rejected, Spawkgeek, and Foolishevil might have been great builders, and the best-of-the-best, but honestly many of us build bots that shred theirs on a daily basis. Does that make us better builders? Not necesarily. It would be like (I'm going to use a hockey analogy because I can't think of anything else at the moment) saying Bobby Orr wass better than Wayne Gretzky was (I apologize for those who don't get it, but I'm not exactly up to date in Rugby, Soccer, Etc).

Anyways, both were thet absolute best, but if Orr (he played in the 60's-70's) played in Gretzky's era (80's-90's), he'd be useless. So to say that Infiniteinertia is better than Rejected is kind of unfair to both. In my opinion, Inf is the top stock builder on the forums today, and he, like many others, shreds Rejected's bots (NWB, etc) regularily. But is he a better builder in his time than Rejected was in his? I'd say absolutely not.

I think it havoks because the wheels are too large for the chassis size.

Creepy story. It looks an awful like some of the stuff the band Tool shows in their music videos.

It also sounds like a lot of the stories about the Jersey Devil (like "The Jersey Devil can Lick Hands Too" one).

I think the problem is that a lot of us don't know about the past, not that we don't respect it. I've just kind of heard of the name "Dummy" before. Admittedly, I don't even know who he was or what he did for the community. It would be nice if someone could fill me in.

@ JD: Win. Pure win.

@ Reier: Not really. The smiley is just something I drew in about 30 seconds in paint today in response to the spam-fest.

The expression is similar to my avatar...

Well, kind of. Atari is a branch of Infogrames, so you gave it to Atari.

He tried to go to 9, but then a ninja from Atari smashed through his roof and ripped his lungs out. We were left with this cryptic message PM'ed to all who were thought to be "threats" to this sacred rule: "Thou shalt not break the 7 extender limit."

We haven't seen much of Apanx since, as he is still in hiding, but every now and then, he finds a way to share his heretic discoveries with us.

It's everyone east of the Rockies. Out in B.C, we're pretty isolated. Hell, even Canada's finance minister said that Canada was a country that stretched "from the Atlantic to the Rockies..."

So, no, I can't really shed light on why there are so many 50 and 60 year old Monkee fanboys up here...

You're thinking of the 15kg ones. The 30kg ones are quite good.

I switched up the wedge design. Now, there's a single 30kg titanium plate in the middle, and the razor setup is also different.
