yeah, try arranging your components better. It's always better to know exactly what you want before you build the chassis, that way you can build it around components and have much less unused space.

Robo Zone 2 - Stock Antweights.
===============================

House Robots:

Challenges:

Offense: Beat the Box - your AW against a box robot with lots of defense.

Defense: Survival - your AW against a much larger robot.

Team Work: Multi-bot challenge - 2 of your submitted AW vs 1 BW.

Overall Design: Gauntlet - your aw faces 3 aws in a row, the match is 1v1 to start and the other 2 will join the battle at set intervals when they are released from the cage).

*Multi-bot challenge will have a time limit of 2:00 and will take place in the classic robo zone arena (re-skinned RA2 tourney arena) with hazards off.

*Beat the Box will have a time limit of 1:00 and will take place in the mini combat zone arena (re-skinned small arena) with hazards off.

*Gauntlet will have a time limit of 3:00 and will take place in the Robo Zone arena with hazards on (the only hazard is that all the robots go for you!).

*Survival will have a time limit of 1:00 and will take place in the mini combat zone arena (re-skinned small arena) with hazards off.

Final: Top 4 Robo Zone Rumble - The final between the top 4 robots, the 2 robots with the lowest amount of points will start the match first and the other 2 will join the battle at set intervals when they are released from the cage with the robot who got the most points joining last.

Rules:

#1 - Weight class = Antweight (125kg and under).
#2 - DSL or Stock = Stock, only normal stock parts including AI parts allowed. No 140cm square extender or Cheatbot(2) parts.
#3 - Realistic rule or not = Non-realistic.
#4 - Arena to be used = Mini combat zone, Classic Robo Zone Arena and Robo Zone Arena.
#5 - Arena hazards on or off = Off for mini combat zone, Off for Classic Robo Zone Arena and On for Robo Zone Arena.
#6 - Number of entrants/date signups will close (can be both) = 10-20 entries.
#7 - IS BFE, AAM, or Zero G is allowed = No
#8 - Which glitches allowed? = Basic in-game stacking glitches such as axle/snapper loading etc. are allowed but Trov glitch, Hax mode etc. are not allowed.
#9 - Type of bots allowed/disallowed = Crawlers, one-wheeled bots, Nasty pickles, bumble bots and multi-bots are not allowed.
#10 - Any attempt to find a loophole will be met with the rejection of your robot, you should know what stock is.
#11 - Robots must have controlled movement.
#12 - You CAN AI your own bot and it is preferred that you do so as I will be doing only basic AI'ing (copy, paste, change name, change PY if needed type AI'ing).
#13 - Any major havok explosions will be edited out, any robot that constantly havoks (3+ times in a row) however will earn 0 points for that round.

Points scoring:

Points will be given in ascending intervals of 1 from worst to best performing bot in each challenge with the worst performer getting 0 points. So in a 10 robot tournament the best performing bot in each challenge would receive 9 points.

Special condition scoring rules:

Gauntlet - Your robot must cause the elimination of bots for it to be counted as a KO for it. 3 KO's > 2 KO's > 1 KO > any score without a KO.
Multi-bot challenge - If one bot is eliminated it's score does not count towards your score.

Awards:

Challenge winners - Robo Zone 2 AI Pack.
Top Points scorer - Robo Zone 2 AI Pack or Robo Zone Arena.
Winner of Top 4 Robo Zone Rumble (Grand Champion) -   Robo Zone 2 AI Pack and Robo Zone Arena.

Classic Robo Zone Arena:

Robo Zone Arena (big thanks to Trovaner for this arena):

A caged robot being let out of it's cage:

Here is a look of the arena in action:
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=XxnrKouRqQ4&feature=youtu.be#ws

This arena will be a very neat award for the winner of the Robo Zone Rumble and possibly the top points scorer at the end of the challenges, this arena that has been built specifically for this tournament. The arena will allow you to play the game in 2 brand new ways! the Robo Zone Rumble or a Gauntlet match.

OK guys, I said I would do it, and there seemed to be considerable interest, so here it is:

Download ALL the bots!

^ That's my entire stock Robot Designs folder, minus any bots that weren't built by me or FB and any bots with custom parts.  The bots date back to 2003 when we first got the game, up to now.  At least half of them were never showcased so there's plenty of old content to poke through.

The .bot files all conveniently start with "CB_" or "FB_" depending on who built it, so they don't get mixed up with your own bots.  Except for Lots OOOOOOOO wheels which was built by FB's friend.

...Looking back, I kinda miss building bots like Evil Weevil V and Gigawhirl II and Double Edge.  I had kind of an IRL style before I found the forums.

Thanks for these click :D now perhaps I will try building a Beetlebros. AI pack, with your permission of course.

-2 rep is a bit too much for his first post. Maybe 1, but come on.

Anyway, when I get RA2 again, I'll be up for some online battles.

pointless necro + pointless emote spam.

I remember seeing that on youtube forever ago! Do you remember who built who?

Project Tabletop? Scrap Daddy actually built that he left a comment on it's videos (match 4 and losers battle royal).

You don't see robots like "Outa there" very often. Very cool concept I must admit.

lol it was my H.A.N.N.A.H bot modified to do no damage but still acts like a VS to get under and flip other bots it did OK but ran into the eventual winner redcross (which was made by Dexterhunter I believe) in the semi's -.-

Stock Showcases / Re: Robo-Trons (intro videos for your robots)
« on: September 05, 2012, 08:12:27 PM »
A while back, I had an idea of making custom in-game intros based on something like bot bindings. This would eliminate the need for a game recorder while at the same time allow people to be creative with how their bots are presented. Things like camera angle (simplified), camera position, speed, music, and bot actions could be automated to occur in a predefined sequence.

Sounds interesting, I think I like being able to use splash images and having video of the robot in action though which I don't think would be possible.

1374
I don't exactly sit here and wait for hours for the videos to upload :P I just start the upload and then I go do something else :) only 6 posts in this topic aren't mine which is a little sad considering the size of the videos/tournament.

I have a pretty interesting idea for this lol. shame I'm not great at building HW's and making splashes :P

Just realised that's about an hour and a halves worth of tournament uploaded in 3 days O.o and still more to come :)

and for those who missed the final part of the winner stays part of the tournament:

  • MUST have at least two spinner weapons (2 spin motors)
  • MUST have at least two hammer weapons (2 burst motors)
  • MUST have at least two rammer weapons (2 separately mounted weapons)

So it must have all 6? Interesting. might try this even though I haven't built a HW in years and I love myself some hybrids.

1379
Part 4 and results are up! Next up will be the final series. Just 10 bots are left, any picks?

1380
Uploading a 1.36 gig video to youtube takes a fair while -.- I can confirm there will be an 8 robot tournament between the robots with the longest winning streaks. Based on the winning streaks it will be 1v8, 2v7, 3v6 and 4v5.
