Hmmm, Walking Rbobots? Please dear god no. That would be horrible if it turned out like that. I would much rather like a Battlebots reboot (although that runs risks, considering how the "Fear Factor" reboot went ) I also hope it will be aired in england or at least international, I do like Britt bots more than Americans. However considering how Cameron is, it probably wil be the Walikng robots thing. I just hope not.
It isn't 2001 anymore. I'm pretty sure people can make some pretty kickass walking robots nowadays. It won't be a show full of Miss Struts and Milennium Bug or anything.

Topic name changed XD
ALSO I KNOW I'M NOT SUPPOSED TO CHANGE RULES BUT I forgot to outlaw cheatbot2 and custom components. That is what I meant by standard DSL though.
Dammit. I just changed all the weapons on Planetery to Judge Gavels and everything.

inb4 hurr durr airsoft gunz loser
Bullsh**, airsoft guns are awesome They're the only type of gun I'm allowed to handle, so...
Ah, OK. Whilst I haven't tried Airsoft yet, I do rather like the look of this beauty- (Image removed from quote.) It's an Echo1 M134 Minigun (Multi-barrelled Machine Gun). It weighs about 17 kilograms, and fires at a rate of over 6000 rounds per minute (Website's here in case you want to see it, along with some other cool stuff- http://www.redwolfairsoft.com/redwolf/airsoft/AEG_AEP_Echo1_Echo1_CAW_M134_Minigun_Long_Version.htm)
Hnnnnnnnnnnnnnnng Now imagine getting that through customs

If there is a disproportionate number of robots, like 8 in Team A and 2 in Team B, the captain of Team 8 shall choose 6 robots to "Sit out" and choose one team of 2 to fight the two remaining bots in team B. I might do some random inter team battles just to ensure everyone gets a fight a round if they're still in or something. The robots that don't fight aren't considered "winners" as soon as there is a overwhelming majorty, as theoretically Team B could still pull it back and win. Once a tribe has knocked the other team out completely, they are considered the winners. I am considering everyone on the winning tribe a winner.
I hope that makes sense.

any bot with components that you edit (.txt, .gmf) go into custom, reskins (.bmp, .tga) and cheatbot2 (irl building) go in stock/dsl
Bad definition, by that logic any bot I have reskinned should be a "custom" bot as I had to touch the .gmf and .txt files.

The captain's job is to the sort out their respective small armies into groups of two before each round starts
I'm confused. Say the captain has 8 bots A-H, would he split them up like this? A+E B+F C+H D+G Then do the two bots from the same tribe fight each other one on one? Or do random groups of two from each tribe all fight in a rumble? Or a team match? Or something else? I might throw something in here even though I haven't built a regular DSL HW in ages, since you seem to be low on entries. Perhaps Mother Lode, considering it's not bad against popups and SnS/SS are banned.
The captain puts the bots in his tribe into pairs, then the pairs are randomly assigned a pair of opponents from the other tribe, and they fight in a tag team match. I think that's the general gist of it.
In a nutshell, yep, that's the gist of it. Any surviving robots then move onto the next round, the captain rearranges the teams if need be, they fight again, rinse and repeat.

Thanks for wiring it for a Joypad I don't have Accepted. Do you want to be considered to be a captain for a tribe?

Agreed. It's also a very useful one to learn, look at Sage's videos in tutorials and tips.

I can answer the latter, the answer is yes. It's no longer competitive but still well-upkept. Ian Watts is an engineering professor at the University of Brighton. In his course, the final project is to build a featherweight robot, and a tournament is held. After the winner is crowned, Ian wheels in Bigger Brother and smashes up all of his students' bots. Check it out (skip to 26 minutes for Bigger Brother):
You know what? Screw ICL and Southampton, i'm applying to Brighton now.

Extended Deadline. It would be a bit hard for me to close signups on the 9th as i'm in Surrey then.

Oh and I just denied something not dissimilar to this for being a SS. Just so you know.
