Too bad it havoked. That bot looked like it could have been very cool.

Well, a piglet actually can spin 100kg fast enough to be effective for a shell spinner, however they still are not ideal. I would recommend downgrading your drive and get wide ant wheels. This will give you more weight to work with should you want to add weapons/get bigger weapon motor.
EDIT: Oh, and for your weapon placement on the shell spinner, I would recommend putting all non-flail weapons on the top attachment points of your panels. That way no HS can easily knock off your panels/entire shell. 1343

You would be very suprised... the BSGs have never come off once, and I've tried him against all of NAR AI LWs. The razors guard the BSGs nicely, so only when the come off does the opponent have a clear shot at them, by which point the bot is screwed anyway. 1345
DSL TC Showcases / Re: Urjaks Showcase« on: December 31, 2009, 05:12:31 PM »I like it but perhaps a bit underpowered. Probably a bit underpowered, but there is not much I can do about that without sacrificing something more crucial. I would love to not have to use multi-extenders, but they are the only extenders that fit below the steel one without intersecting the motor. As far as the steel... maybe I could downgrade them, but an unforseen issue I had is that robots hit the top extenders a lot, more than I expected, and cause the entire assembly to come off. 1346

Hello Everybody! I finally came up with a fairly uncommon idea to build. the bot is called Le Crab:
Le Crab is a LW Side-hammer. At first I thought this idea would suck... but I was very wrong. Le Crab easily dismembers most opponents, taking off exposed extenders or striking the exposed chassis of LWs. Only opponents with strong defenses and minimal extender work (such as Gearhead) can consistently beat him. Any comments would be appreciated. :D 1347

DSL TC Showcases / Re: The DSL Showcase of The Ounce, to Learn« on: December 31, 2009, 03:22:02 PM »How about the bottom ones angled vertical and the top ones horizontal? They would become unrealistic when not spinning, as they would intersect the flails below them. 1349

S32, I believe that component material being involved in determining realism is a bad idea. Realism in DSL was invented to prevent uber-stacked HS and intersecting components, not the physics of materials used ingame.
Also, the names of the components should be meaningless, if the extenders had just been called light extender, medium extender, heavy extender, than the original argument would be meanigless. But no matter what they are called, and extender can still not spin through another extender as that would break all fundemental laws of physics, and thus be unrealisitic. But just becasue the modders decided to call the extender a "polycarbonate" extender doesn't mean the material should be taken at face value. My rant has now concluded... 1355

Yeah, a Steel 120 cm extender attached wth one of its side attachments.
EDIT: If you need it to go farther, a 120 polycarb extender may work better. 1359

I should have showed you this link: https://gametechmods.com/forums/index.php/topic,1743.msg37555.html#msg37555
I would recommend spinning up the motor without anything on it, then attaching a 120 cm polycarbonyte extender using one of the side attachment points. Then attach a 60 or 70kg sledgehammer. 1360

Oh.... yup it works for all motors in DSL. I use it all the time.
