I'm looking into playing in the next few hours, if anybody is interested in joining me. I haven't played seriously in a long time, and I'm not where I want to be as a player so I could use some people around me.

I'm a medic, engie or pyro when I actually play.

It would be good to have subs for certain positions.

This, ladies and gentlemen, is why when you have an issue you go directly to the source of your disdain and attempt to clarify all things related to the topic instead of going on an anger driven rant.

Question: Why is Mr. AS an idiot on the forum, but extremely helpful on the Wiki?

I usually play some football (The american kind) every wednesday afternoon with about ten people. Other than that I don't get nearly as much athletic activity as I used to. I used to ride BMX in my younger years. I was also an avid swimmer, for which I took lessons for ten years. I've had to stop most of these activities because I dislocated my knee pretty badly a year and a half ago at an Airsoft event, and it hasn't been right since.

I wear braces on both of my knees when i do any sort of activity now, including work.

One of the heads on the dual head gets decapitated :trollface

Please tell me it's the annoying one that gets cut off.

I think the less annoying one should get cut off, but the lost drives the remaining one off the deep end and he is plagued by mental instability.

And Reier, you need to make the female characters with some sort of recognizable female traits. As it is right now it just looks like a ridiculously colored dragon.

I took a scout through the thread that was in Forum News when there was a bunch of promotions at the end of 2010, and I found this explanation:

Possibly. The truth is, they're a little bit pointless. As long as you have fun here, that's all that really matters. =D

ding ding sing

and thats why you got one :P

Best thing to do, I reckon, would be to stop worrying about it. Enjoy your time here, try and help out as much as you can, and generally find some way that you can keep the forum ticking over. Those that ask don't get, was another line from that thread. It's like what happened with JoeBlo and Backlash, if you keep asking for it, the chances are you're going to annoy the people who make the decisions, and eventually your chances of actually getting it are going to go right down the toilet.

That's actually what I was going to say next. This is something that I make sure to stress frequently, yet somehow these discussions keep popping up. If you feel the need to ask to be promoted, the likelihood is that you DO NOT deserve it. And it's always the same people bringing it up, and those people will NEVER become advanced users.

Think of it this way, AU's are supposed to be role models for the rest of the forum. If they spent the majority of their time asking and begging and moaning to become AU, then it is likely that other users will attempt to do the same.

It's sort of like on your birthday as a kid, when you're opening presents from your grandparents or something, and before you even get a chance to take it in your mom goes "Now say thank you..." At that point the "Thank You!" loses all meaning.

Just saying if this thing is useful to you
(Image removed from quote.)

Let me put it this way, if Stratocaster wasn't useful to them, the likelihood of what essentially amounts to a sub-par clone thereof will also not be useful to them. There's a reason that only a few people actually worked on this pack, which is also the reason it has taken so long. Re-Stocked is going to be the best of the best, no ifs, ands or buts about it.

Not really. You just need to contribute effectively. Contributing effectively does not directly correlate to post count.
There are still some weird names in AU's... I have no idea what for example, Dexterhunter has done in the community back in 2006-2008 exactly...

It's interesting, really, how one may come to be an AU or Veteran. A lot of it is based on time, obviously. If you are to be a ranked member, your location essentially depends on what era of the community you come from. If you are from the earliest days up until around the time Infinite showed up, you are considered to be a veteran. If you are from the time following that, you are considered to be an AU. Obviously these are broken up more on the Wiki with New World Veterans vs. Old World Veterans.

Furthermore, when someone is considered for promotion to a forum rank, historically it has been completely objective based solely on whenever the hell the staff feels like. The only exception to this is the Roboteer group, but I don't really count that anyways (Unless your name is MikeNCR, sorry guys) That's why there is such a disparity between what you would call a contributing AU or Vet (GK, Sage, etc.) versus one who doesn't seem to contribute much, at least not publicly (Dex, Sys32, Myself before I became a Mod.) There are a lot of people who get overlooked for various reasons, ranging from post history, to activity, limited contributions, to plain and simple whether ACAMS actually likes you.

EDIT: And this is case in point:

And hopefully someday, I'll take my place amongst them   =D
No chances... You haven't hosted single Tournament, Built only few bots and I don't even know can you AI.

I never hosted a tournament, I hardly built, and I knew how to AI for a grand total of 5 minutes. These are hardly considered to be the end-all be-all measures of whether or not someone should be an AU. I've said it before and I will say it again, GF has (in my opinion) in the past been much closer to being an AU than most people on this forum realize.

I thought we already had Kill doing the UI :/

Nobody's talked to me

I haven't had a hand in this project since it was first introduced. The two things aforementioned were the only things I contributed, and both were scrapped quite early on.

no, a reskinned stratocaster was the first Restocked Wide Load. It got replaced rather quickly.
