Ironforge TC Showcases / Re: TRB does ironforge (The other TRB)

there are like a ton of bot types in total so good luck

also this is nearly a popup/wammer by my standards

please do not start a showcase by arguing, Badnik.

this bot needs a tighter chassis, no need for the small batteries either. 2 blacks are more than enough. also i feel your design will be more handy with smaller discs.

also if you want to do complex stuff like that it's better to use dsl. Stock components are far more fragile so it doesn't work out above Stock AI level.

alright, first impressions:

-storm piston seems inferior to the vdma's because it's air consumption was more than doubled for a 50% increase in power. and apparently compressed air is more expensive weightwise in dsl 2.2.

-I felt the amp costs were high for burst motors but now that every battery outputs a whole nuclear power plant's worth of amps, amps are now somehow pointless.

-strengthening the heavier weapons was really needed. :thumbup

-i like a lot the free-moving metal hinges, will be needed in IRL and some DSL-S builds.

-it would be nice if we had the piercing and concussion values in the weapon description, after DP, so we can see what kind of weapon it is. (If you want i can help you with that)

-removing the "every weapon and their mother has normals" thing that was in the dsl3 beta was needed. everything having normals = frustration.

-right now how you explained normals is confusing for newbies. for me it's mostly understandable (even some cases are confusing me) because i'm used to DSL 2.1 and how normals work, but a newbie or even a guy who doesn't mod will find it not helping.

-im not so fond of the wheel balance. mostly all wheels are the same, some are slightly grippier than others at the cost of HP and some are slightly tougher than HP at the cost of grip, but it's not really visible. I feel that we should have more choice in wheels, like some wheels being really grippy but then again very fragile, and some wheels having bad grip but doubling as armor.

Also we don't have any high grip wheels anymore, the "high" grip wheels are huge and unwieldy. So that means the bots will be more slow, which means less exciting fights.

-The large batteries are very good, the only drawback being size. I'm not quite sure how this infinite amp output is going to work, but you tested it, right ?

Also the best battery is now the battlepack... i always felt WP836E was supposed to be the heavy duty battery. It's not THAT strong compared to the ant batts as well. But you apparently took battery size into balance considerations which is good.

I'll give more detailed feedback when i'll be more familiar with the game.

It looks good.

Steel shark teeth are the most horrible component because they're like ninjas. No matter how much you click on them, they never let themselves be selected.

I like it, however I feel you should move the upper clamp in a more forward position if possible

This has been going on for a while now. Someone (Craaig or MikeNCR i think) confirmed it already. Then Andy (someone who has faked his own suicide) comes up and says "I MADE UP RA3 HUEHUE" and people just believe him like that? lol

yeah lol, as said before andrew would fill the ra3 page with sh**ty memes and porn and pictures of sh**.

Discussion / Re: Ironforge Ballasts with Multibots
« on: January 10, 2016, 06:28:51 PM »
The ironforge ballast rule has nothing to do with multibots... each ironforge bot is allowed up to 4 ballasts to balance the bot and not make it go too fast/be too light/be unstable due to high power motors.

You are already nerfing your bot by adding ballasts, so ballast weight is not actually active weight. Hence there's no point in "balancing" it with multibot weight by saying ballast weight must be shared between multibots.

tl;dr ballasts aren't actually making your bot better, so they are not relevant to multibot weight balance.

MW's can have four ballasts and HW's can have four ballasts, hence MW multibots can have four ballasts as well.
