I'm not sure if the custom .py for this bot's AI could detect the opponent's type especially if the opponent is on Omni.py.
Exactly.
And how would it know if it is a VS or HS since both can use the same AI.py... things like that.
Still checking for a few potential ways yet, though.

Gig, it seems that Succesor is not just overpowered, but way overpowered. I like your design, but I thought that it could use more weaponry and/or armor.

VHS.bot That would work ok as a User bot, but as an AI i'm not sure. I once told CB that I would write an AI.py for that bot. But neither of us at the time could figure out; What factors would dictate which position the weapon should be in?
If you guys have any ideas...

SD, Let's NOT go there again.
FYI: He approached me asking to learn the AAM stuff that many were accusing him of doing. I told him later I would.  He was a little embarrassed that others knew AAM and he did not. I finally taught Venko at least a couple months after people accused him of AAM. He really knew nothing when i first began sharing stuff.
Also: He is just extremely patient and has a very good comp, monitor and mouse set-up which helps, and probably biggest of all, practically lives in front of his comp with RA2.

Nar, It's an Electro-static Discharge Generator. It's powerful, but that was just a lucky 1HK.  It usually tears off components/parts first.  PM me if you'd like to know how it works.

ACAMS, I'm going to AI that bot, with that uber-powerful weapon. Then YOU can 'RULE the WORLD!' (...as long as I'm #2. *hehe*)

No, Nar, not anywhere. The Black text is/are headings, under which the blue coding goes, with proper indenting...
If you've any probs, then just send me the py and I'll put it in for you...

More than one song would take a little more coding than written above.

(BTW: Did you have a look at the vid above using this coding?..:

Wham, here's the coding for Arena Background music:
(If you need help on the indenting, let me know)

def __init__(self):
self.StartMusicTimer = 0

def HazardsOn(self, on):
self.game_music = plus.createSound("Sounds/BalladOfJedClampet.wav", False, (0,0,0))

def __del__(self):
plus.stopSound(self.game_music)
plus.removeSound(self.game_music)
Arenas.SuperArena.__del__(self)

def Tick(self):
if self.StartMusicTimer <= 20:
self.StartMusicTimer += 1
if self.StartMusicTimer == 20:
plus.loopSound(self.game_music)

Here's a snipet vid of the Arena music: The Hoedown Dance!
(I actually love the Banjo...:-D)

Well, it seems to have decompiled this acid spike cleanly.
I modded it and re-compiled it:

So far so good.

That's as bad as the sneaky "That's it, you're now a Lego wizard!" mystifying taunt, in the bot lab. hehe.

Discussion / The Perfect robot.

Perfect bot, huh? Even if there were such, because there are more factors than the bot itself, the outcome is not predictable.
Because I had nothing else or better to do today (yea, right) I put the same bot (Alien Queen) against itself for 5 sets of 10 matches, in the Combat arena (no hazards). The results were...
.........Matches:
Bot1: 6
Bot2: 4

Bot1: 5
Bot2: 5

Bot1: 7

Bot2: 3

Bot1: 4
Bot2: 6

Bot1: 7

Bot2: 3

Bot2 only won one set. If done again, the results would be different, of course. So obviously, other factors than just 'bot-condition' (even if 'perfect') matter.

Glitches are glitches because conditions have to be just right before they happen. So what would be 'improvement' for a normal bot, may not on a glitch (i.e. PT) bot.
That noted, S-32 have you tried 1 black bat and smaller chassis space?

Cocytus looks very effective, SD. Without seeing it in action, I can't think of any tweakings for improvement,... if there were any.

There should be a component where you can record your voice on the computer and make the bot say something when A certain thing happens, such as it saying "Ha Ha" when the bot is hit by the weapon.
You could do that yourself, Somebody. Just,
(1) record your words in a small wav file,
(2) place it in the 'Sounds' folder, then
(3) go into the txt of the weapon you want your voice to be triggered by and write the name of the wav file in this line:
damagesounds = sounds\XXXXX.wav

You were right, CB; User controlled.
But I agree with Gig on this one. I think an AI would be much more unbiased (which is what I didn't like about RW's house bot).
W-nut, it's you tourney, and you can do as you please. The AI/py to do this is possible but would take some time and effort.

I can picture coding that would enable the bot to :
1. sit/only move in certain areas,
2. keep itself from being counted out,
3. attack any bot that came within a certain radius of it, and
4. go after any bot undergoing 'immobilization coutdown'(ACAM's idea).

CB, I didn't think of it being 'User-controlled', I thought it was AI. But could be wrong.

Nar, I agree, some; like when that bot attacks the players arbitrarily. But having it 'AI-ed' (no human bias), and having it sit there like a lurking, pro-active 'hazard' seems fair to me....

I've not seen and he's not told me of a chart like this; unless he put up the incomplete version?.. which I doubt. This is not a step 1,2,3... on "How to AI" instructions, like on GTM. It's a chart on the necessary AI.py information for choosing the best/appropriate AI.py based upon functioning(s), and then the some information/specs needed to AI it.
I'll put up a snipet later ....
But if you run into it, please let me know...

I actually have a basic Idea of how it could work. put a hit zone(like the saw/fire turn on zones) in the arena. "if not in zone pretend other bots are being counted out"....

Quote from: goose;17046
He could use mostly recycled code.
I think it's do-able too. *Weird timing, cause I just spent 4 hours figuring out how the immobilization coding works.* Goose is right... can be do-ed.
