have a nice scar that runs the length of my forearm that split open when sown shut
cut the tips of both thumbs off (not at the same time!)
since i started building robots im used to blood 
I can top that... I've shot a nail through my thumb with a nail gun... I've also got a tiny piece of TI in my left thumb. It's been there since September.

No, I am not a robosexual... I got kicked off the team because my grades have gone to hell over the past month because i've been devoting all my time to working on the robot and not doing school work. On a lighter note... I now have a lot more free time...

Dude seriously put some effort into making it look realistic. Big chassis + slightly less than normal weapons does not equal realistic. Loose the big skirts and try to blend the design better, work on the "flow" of the components. Not just the "it's more effective here..."

My best serious advice to meet people, find a group of somesort that interests you (be it a robotics team, chess club, soccer team, or anything) and join it. Chances are you will find someone with similar interests to you. I have found all of my closest friends this way.

Take a look at Craaigs showcase to see one style of VS, take a look at my showcase to see a completely different style.
I'd mount the hammers on only one drum segment so they create a X shape with each hammer being a leg of the X. Also i'd go for a wider stance with non angled sheets to save weight so stronger ones can be used. Also try dropping down to mag drive. You really dont need the speed for a VS.
