As far as I understand, Infogrames and Atari didn't technically merge. I always read that Infogrames bought the company that was known as Atari at the time and began using the Atari branding for themselves because of how recognizable it is. The name "Atari" is just better for marketing due to it's history in gaming.

There's only 2 real racing sims around, Gran Turismo will always be king in my book and if Sony pulls the same BS Microsoft pulled a lot of people will miss out on the big 2 racing sims. I would like to see Nintendo get an exclusive racing sim too, they are getting project cars (already on PC IIRC) but I haven't really been paying attention to that much so I don't know what it'll be like.
Also, hardcore racing sims only really work with a wheel
lolno. They do give you the most realistic experience when using a wheel, but there aren't any that won't let you use a controller if that's all you have.
