Inspired by CPHE's opponents from the last 2 years.
The egg beater weapon is surprisingly effective! ![]() The main difference between the 2 is armor. However Comet 2 has a few more supports beneath the wedges for a more IRL look. 1285

Just for clarity, you are using Launch Pad 2 instead of 1 right?

Robots Showcase / CPHE Steel Eagles« on: September 28, 2016, 12:41:05 AM »
Clay Platte Home Educators. We are a team of Homeschooled robot builders in the 15 lb. weight division.
As of now we have participated in 2 BotsKC events(With a third on the way) with 2 different robots. The first is the Stop sign of death. We called it "Showstopper" just for kicks... It kinda stuck. ![]() Well, here you can see it in action. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Z3ZiUMCrG7M&index=4&list=PLZD_GrExnnNYrZDebLSXhZm6jX9gw26-D We wanted a simple approach for our first battles. The original plan was to fit a lawnmower blade on top. That would've been fun. But weight restraints aided in preventing that. However, a huge flaw was, our armor bent, and made us high centered. Immobilizing us multiple times. Our strategy was simple. ABUSE THE 10 SECOND PIN LIMIT! This abuse cause some controversy and... they nerfed us. In our second and third battles (Including the one above) the rules were changed so we had to pin them for 5 seconds, then let them free and let them get away. Overall, we got 3rd place in a 5 bot tourney (With one bot not working) Year 2 we decided to have an actual weapon! However, we didn't have much to go for in terms of parts. Thus, "Spare Parts" was born! ![]() Here it is in action. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=vzGoELtR6as&list=PLZD_GrExnnNaIl6SHLMFdt4RO-cc5FiGj&index=14 As you can tell our opponents that year were... unique. As for our bot, we found the weapon to be ineffective. Perhaps wedglets could've been a good idea. On a side note, we fought against the eventual champion in Round 1 and won! That was an achievement honestly. With double the roster this year, (Meaning 10 bots) we pulled off 3rd place AGAIN! Should we proud or sad? Anyway with year 3 on the horizon, we're looking for another new design. Hopefully we'll do better than 3rd this year. 1291

Here's a nice little replica.
![]() Sure not 1:1 , and of course I haven't custom skinned the components, but it's a start. Sorry, bout the Smartzone btw, I wanted to test AIing with a flamethrower. 1293

Very good Ringmaster-esk bot.
Parabite (Sense no one mentioned it) Looks quite devastating. It seems you have a liking for 1 toothed spinners eh? 1294

We have a new logo and arena skin courtesy of Dragonsteincole.
Also, if you haven't seen, BFE and CF have been allowed. I've also, disallowed SnS bots. 1295

Edited for 16 entries and information on BFE.
Edit: BFE wasn't added at first for some reason. Added it under rules and allowed CF 1296

Day 2 sense last update: Still no replies. I think I might have to resort to a bump or a new bot.
I think I'll wait a few hours for the new bot... 1297

Thanks, didn't notice I had the Default bitmap.
I've fixed the skins. And why not show off a new bot? ![]() Names a bot OCD: gives it a 1 tooth spinner. ![]() 100% not based off Disco inferno. I'll be honest, not a lot of work went into that one, but I wanted to make some more Cruiserweights. They're fun. |
