The only bad one is the one with S3 wheels.
Yeah, it's a bit basic and bland. One of the first ones I built. Will most likely not make the cut and get replaced. Tempted to run some 'qualifiers' when I have to whittle down to the ones that will make the cut.
Still need to download Photoshop in order to make custom skins, and better splashes. I did try and make a splash but I don't like it very much.
yeah bro you need to make a showcase if you did that with stock DSL decals and edges and whatnot in the paint lab, then that's pretty freakin' stellar.

The only way to know is to see the guts.
As a suggestion, (and because I do this with all my bots and no one complains) I think you should post screenshots of the (and every one from now on) bot as well as its insides.

You could make it mandatory for people to upload a screenshot of their bot with the bot file, I know it would make things a little tougher on everyone else but hey it's an option :)
but then all of the bots that are already on the bot exchange, including the ones made by people who are no longer here...

I am interested.
Unless more people want to follow my progress, I won't be starting a progress thread for it. I will, however, continue working on it.
I'm interested too.

Maybe if you started with stock, then you would have some sort of clue to what to do in DSL. You aren't near the skill level yet where you can afford to be wasting your time fiddling in DSL.
I can understand him not being in stock, the lack of realism extremely annoyed and frustrated me and there was even a lack of realism in standard DSL that IRL filled in.

I don't know if you have a showcase or not, but make a showcase and show off some of your bots so we can help you. Everyone's just call my 'bots crap though. D:
There's only 3 ways to change that; 1) run away like a babyman, 2) let us help you or 3) become amazing all of a sudden by some random force of nature. And honestly, I quite like the golden half circle like bot in the top right.

Maybe if you had killed a few they may have forgot about the exam. Missed a trick there I feel.
I like the way you think.

Seriously though, find 2 interests in your life. Get yourself acquainted with both, pursue one, fall back on the other.
Along the way you can get the sucky sucky and the babies and the nice cars and stuff.

This isn't something that someone else can answer for you. Everyone follows their own path at some point in time and it is on this path that you find the answer(s) to your question. Almost everyone wants to make their life mean something. However, you need to ask yourself what do you want to be known for? You don't have to be good at something to make a difference.
Do you want to be the person that is recognized by name or a nameless somebody? Everywhere you go, you see plagues in honor of someone but it is rare to recognize a name that is older than X number of years. My point is that it is unrealistic to strive to be a recognized name. People that we recognize do not try to be recognized. For example, Albert Einstein had no intention of being a name that people recognize but he managed to make his life mean something to people. Actions speak louder than words.
I love you.

So I've compiled some teams of replica bots and I'm dying to put them into the story, I just gotta figure out where. I'll give you a bit of a teaser on what's to come though (in list form)
-2 MW vs 1 HW -2 HW vs 1 SHW -1 MW vs 1 SHW -bots made by other people, like JD's Steel Reign -1 HW vs 2 LW -SHW vs SHW -Replica bots (Nightmare, Razer, so on) -Hammer of Judgement, Hammer of Justice -more of my bots (besides Assassiness)

You're screwed.
Find time during your classes (if you have any free time) to go over your ingredients, steps, etc. If you feel that you don't need to study anymore then you shouldn't worry.

Having browsed some more showcases and read critiques on 'IRL' robots, I fear none of my creations are anywhere near the standard needed to hold any of your interest.
Considering I don't have much understand of custom components, custom paintjobs....pretty much custom anything. It's all practically DSL defaults and textures downloaded from the site.
Never mind. Have a preview image from a test battle I fought to try and showcase some of the robots involved.
I don't know if you have a showcase or not, but make a showcase and show off some of your bots so we can help you. Don't worry about custom components (unless you mean skinned parts), but custom paintjobs aren't too hard and I've made damn nice looking bots with DSL textures and downloaded textures.

First meal: Take 4 slices of bread. Put cheese in between slices of bread. Put each of the bread-cheese-bread sandwiches into their own toaster slots. Toast them. While they're toasting, take some tomato soup, pour it into a bowl, throw it in the microwave for 2 minutes. Once you do all that, your toasted cheese sandwiches will be done toasting. Take them out, cut them in half, wait for the tomato soup to finish. To eat, dunk the toasted cheese half-sandwiches in the tomato soup like you dump chips (they're called fries where you come from, I think) in sour cream dip.
That should give you an hour and thirty minutes to make something really fancy.

Instantly thinking to block Beetl's disk, Assassiness lurched her blades up in front of her, crossing them like an X. His disk began whacking away at her blades, sending sparks across the arena. Her blades wouldn't hold much longer, she had to do something. She moved forward causing him to back up, the disk still beating away at the blades, occasionally knocking her guard off. She waited for the perfect time when her guard was broken, expecting him to lift his disk up and score a body blow. And that's exactly what he did. She charged at him before he could bring his disk back down and drove the blades into his armor. Nothing. This won't be good. The blades bounced off of his armor and out of shock she let her guard down. Beetl took no time at all to grab her and spin, slamming her into one of the starting positions. He lifted his disk high and ripped it down, barely missing her. Regaining her bearings she charged at him again, swinging her blades at his disk and using her body as a plow, pushing him backwards. “Beetl,” the announcer began. “Are you going to let a girl push you around? I’d be more cautious if I were you, the pits are about to open!” And open, they did. She saw this as a perfect opportunity to finish this fight off, and slashed at the disk with both swords, breaking off a beater bar and damaging the chain.

So took Red's bot and Scrap's bot and made them into one. (Image removed from quote.)
Now I want to make a very cube-like vertical disk spinner and call it "Cubed" lol

I can't have been the only one who thought Timbuktu was a made up place.
Oooh, this. I forgot about that one. I thought Newfoundland was pronounced New-Found-Land, not something like newfinlan I thought gay guys got pregnant.

There's one thing I don't like. The wheel choice.
The rest of it, however... <3

Thank you all
Nice bot, you probably couldn't kill TimberWolf because it has some insane armor (like 10mm tite or something).
Ah... So that's why it was so hard to destroy it. Chose the wrong opponent for the video then.
Just came here to say that I'll have to cease building bots for while because I'm lacking inspiration and patience right now. I get frustrated faster when I fail in an idea and basically rage quit the game instead of trying new ways. That's an indication that I need to stop.
I'll still be around making scattered and pointless comments, though
Lacking inspiration, he says. You're a massive bowl of Inspiration, if I only had the finesse of your bot making skills I'd probably be making my own versions of some of your bots. That being said, roll around in showcases of IRL builders; IRL building can be fun and rewarding and so long as you have an idea of what you're going to do, you can make some pretty wicked sick bots. I gotta say, I liked your attempts at IRL, they were very different, like something from an early season of RW or Battlebots.
