The only "realistic" rule is the one that says things cant go through other things. Everything else is too complicated and not applicable to RA2.

I suppose that since chained motors are considered realsitic, ultra-thin chassis should be as well...

They would probably be better if they flail horizontally.

Yes, I agree with Pwn here. HS tend to generally do better when their flail weapons are horizontal. Worse against wedges maybe, but better against other weapons.

That's still open to debate. My experience says they are to similar in wedginess to say one is definitely better than the other.
