I had one... Now she is just a friend who happens to be a girl...

Why are all of these topics about sex, relationships, and other personal things popping up now?

I can't find any info on what a battlerat is besides a couple of youtube videos of it and webpages mentioning them. The armor looks like thin 1/16-1/8" lexan. Which if it is, you could buy some Lexan from home depot or whatever hardware store you have in the UK and make replacements for the armor.

Also if you plan on running as a featherweight you are going to need some serious modifications. 6v ain't gonna cut it. The motors look like 540 or 550 size motors, which should be able to handle up to 12v. Your weakness would be the speed controller. If the armor is 1/8" lexan. That won't hold up to spinners or hammers well. Luckily you've got about 8kg(?). You could go with a large 3/8" thick piece of steel angle or ibeam as a rear plow. You will also want to shock mount the Lexan top armor with a something like these.

The wedge is a dustpan so it's flush with the ground.

Nice. I still think you need to invest in some cheap RC gear and ESC's to power the models.

Go pneumatic. A low pressure system isn't going to weight more than 3-4lbs with a 12oz tank.

You didn't buy a taser? You can do so many cool things with them. Flamethrower, shock people, revive dead NICAD/NIMH batteries

I still build in regular DSL. I haven't downloaded NAR ai or anything because my internet is so slow. What I do if fight robots a weightclass up from what my bot is and see how they do. For HWs I try to see if they can KO Grog in less than 45s and/or get under Cranky Spanky.

Are you looking for Battlebots (TV show) or using Battlebots as a general term for fighting robots?

Battlebotsvideos has most of the old matches most videos are low sound and video quality

Ste4096 has some high quality matches

Battlebotstv has matches from the failed 2009 relaunch
___________

For fighting robots

Garthknt has great high quality videos

As does teamvelocity,  mattmaxsr, and botman64

http://madoverlord.com/ has a huge library of high quality post Battlebots videos.

Taking inventory of what I've got...

plenty of tube steel, a vantec, radio gear, and some big drill batteries.

I could totally do it.

All I'd need is some ti for armor and motors. I could probably use 4 CIMs and gear for something like 20mph. That would be a fun bot.

I am so going to build a 60 lb wedge just to piss off Dave for not running 30's.

1280
Hahaha, speaking of wedge bots Dave and I had a quite fun conversation over the phone about wedges. XD Vapor bots too. :P

Tell him to run 30's at Robogames.

Also I'd gladly do an interview with you for this. I've got an impressive record at NERC events. (two 2nd places, three 3rd places, and never finished a tournament with a losing record)

I might go to Robogames if Dave runs 30's and I find money to get out there.
