Dude, that's at least 140kg per Perm. Which is more than 350kg spent on the weapon system alone.

And it's because it has infinite HP when on the 'baseplate'. And ditch the vertical poly behind the plow, it's not gonna make your bot move when inverted.

There's a difference between making your chassis slightly larger to make use of the free weight to gain more HP and wasting a lot of weight on HP when you barely have the weapons to fend opponents off.

Checking out that 'complex' HS from the BOTM thread, I decided to unearth my failed prototype which is about 2 years old:



DSA, 1 black, RAD drive. It took me about 3 rebuilds to realize reverse RADs accelerate more slowly than regular ones. o_o

Oh, and it can't fight worth crap either. A couple of quick matches in ReStocked always result in it getting trashed in less than 30 seconds (I'm guessing this applies to most bots that have weak torque, though). And like I said in the BOTM thread, the RADs seem to be taken off too easily for some reason.

Tried a design like 6 back then, but the RADs came off too easily (was a MW though). Maybe the LW's better in its division. 7 made me fall off my chair, 8 made me crey 5evur

No idea which one to vote for.

The flipper py detectes when an opponent is upside down so..
what happen if a flipper faces an Ultimate sacriface style bot?

Sacrifice-style bots still move while inverted, so the flipper's still gonna do its job.

Snappers aid in self-righting (which is necessary due to its slow drive), and can do ninja stuff against bots that are able to slide under it. Once the enemy chassis slides right in between the drive, the snappers throw the weapon system backwards and hopefully take off some stuff. And yeah, it's slow and somewhat fragile. Kinda hard to scale down a design meant for a HW, though.

I thought I was able to get more weapons into this thing (maces instead of razors), but yeah, that's probably what happens when you haven't built in a long time. >.<

does the .py mechanism that stops the flipper detects forward speed, rotational speed or both ?

IIRC it detects movement by checking the distance between the flipper and the opponent. So if the SnS doesn't use MeltyBrain, it won't flip.
