when ai'd mfl2 seems to have a problem with turning, it sometimes exposes its back to opponents, usually with out much interference, if any at all.

I'd try making the chassis smaller and then stacking the baseplate anchors (which isn't too hard when it comes to BAs so just try it out) and then mount the drive off that.
What, so having everything externally exposed? (kinda like some robots in dsl) If so, ill try it tomorrow.
