By the way, why is elitism so bad?
Foul language removed
While that is a legitimate question, it does however hold no truth whatsoever on GTM.  Vast majority of the GTM population does show that they can "not cheat".  Take DSL for example, the only people who ever try to push through the realistic rules are first time n00bs or the "respectable" competitive players (ex.  Naryar with Narmour, me trying to push for hollow motor).  Nobody else has any problem building non questionable things.

So I will say elitism in this context is bad because it does not match empirical evidence, making it nothing more than prejudices.

Elitism is a bad thing like baby raping and racism is a bad thing.
I for one think baby raping is a lot worst than both elitism and racism combine.

GTG: you challenged one member you chose randomly random? sounds stupid
Aye, particularly considering how our whale-defending friend is considered to be one of the all-time greats of RA2.
Na, I challenged him.  He was posting on my PM saying how his killdozer bot isn't finish and I shouldn't judge it by what he post, so I want to offer him to opportunity to prove that.

It's not fair if I bash him through pure assumptions alone after all.

Well yeah.  I am just saying HAX mode bringing in BFE wouldn't even be a problem because voice commanding parts to no collision is easier than typing things in.

I mean, who cares about BFE if you are allowing HAX mode to begin with?  Why do you even need to distinguish a legit HAX mode bot from a BFE one that can be build using HAX mode?  Because BFE is easier?  Well not according to this video.  It's like, who's going to bother using AAM when you can BFE?

Now maybe Sage actually need to stuff up on tinctures and spend a lot of Mana point casting a spell on his machine.  Again, all we see is voice command and going from not stackable to stackable in an instant.  So we have to assume it's easy once activated.

@ S32:
OR you could have mentioned ACAMS's arguments that releasing this glitch would make BFE/AAM absolutely impossible to check for. Hence, it would be possible for people to blatantly cheat, and we'd never know the difference between hax mode and what we have long considered illegaly built robots.

This makes zero sense. Unless there is a tournament that allows BFE and not Hax Mode, or Hax Mode and not BFE, then there is no complication. We use common sense to screen out BFE, and we can do the same for Hax mode. If there was a tournament where one was legal and not the other (namely Hax mode allowed, BFE not), then all you have to do is look out for bots that have traits that can't be achieved via Hax Mode (such as an incredibly small chassis or random floating components).
I don't know, judging by the video Sage just voice command the part to no collision, it almost seem easier than BFE.

So then nobody will bother using BFE if you can do that.

123STW   is aboslutely right, there is no good reason to keep secret. If I ever   discover how to do Hax Mode I would release it in a heartbeat. If stock   crumbles as a result then so be it, at least we don't have a bunch of   "elite" deciding what is and isn't good for the rest of the stock   builders.

The key here is that only when the glitch is released   will we have any idea what the effects will be. Glitches that have more   potential than Hax, such as BFE and AAM, haven't ruined stock and yet   they are not all that hard to learn (someone even posted a BFE guide a   while back). Thus there is no reason to believe that revealing how Hax   Mode works will harm or even change Stock in any way.

Well, I won't go that far.  I will say that if his reason is solely to keep it to himself and his close group, he may do so because he did discover it.

People have the right to be selfish with the things they discover, which is fine if the person is willing to admit to that.  It's just all the other stuff about ruining the community or for the better of us all that I have problems with.

So, will you accept the rule about the bot actually have to resemble what you replicating, and not just the type?

Cuz if you don't then I will exploit it.

One more rule I must include.

The replica you make MUST resemble the bot you are replicating to an average observer.  It's BS if I claim to replicate 360 arc pounder but entered Rotation Powered Pulsar.  And I assume you don't want me to enter Rotation Powered Pulsar.  So I suggest you agree to this or I will abuse it.

You know what, forget it.  A real life DSL replica without realistic rule is just too retarded.

I love how all the arguments for keeping this glitch away from the public are poorly hidden elitist remarks or versions of "because I said so".
I thought they were blatantly obvious elitist remarks.  Actually elitism, or a very selected few people are significantly more responsible than everyone else, is the whole basis of their argument.

The way I see it, the vast majority of the community are responsible enough, but a few n00bs do exist which can cause a lot of troubles.

I love how all the arguments for keeping this glitch away from the public are poorly hidden elitist remarks or versions of "because I said so".
most of the arguments for showing it are "i wanna know!"
Yes, and I didn't even try to hide that fact.  Obviously if I don't want to know then I could of care less.

Even so, elitism is a terrible reason for justifying why "I wanna know" is bad.

You want a challenge?

DSL: OVERLY POWERED REPS
DSL Heavyweight (800kg or less)
Bot to overly powered:  Killdozer.
You do not actually have to use the killdozer plow.  But you may choose to do so.
Can have as many wheels as you want.
No spinner, flails, wedge, or anything else that clearly makes it not a ram.
Realistic rules applies.  No hax.

Type, Vote or Combat, you choose

If Vote, vote base on how OVERLY POWERED it looks.

If Combat, combat arena, best of 2 out of 3.

I like to say "I told you so"?  He is clearly a short green wild bearded sage with the staff of inner growth.

Oh the VGA mode doesn't even have the "maintain aspect ratio" function, so it will just be stretch out.

Not that I have problem with extra fat siege tanks or dragoons or anything.

This monitor pretty much only supports 1440x900.  Anything else is just stretch out to fit that size.

Yes, you have the adapter, but the resolution still might not look right, especially if you somehow got a VGA widescreen monitor trying to play a non wide screen game.

Isn't it amazing that somehow I acquire a VGA wide screen monitor from Acer?

From personal experience, this is highly dependent on what machine you have.

First, check to make sure your existing computer can even fit a graphic card physically.  You see my crappy Gateway right here?  It got the slot, it just doesn't have the physical space to fit a huge video card in.  If you are buying a new one, make sure you check the picture of a mother board to see that it can physically fit a huge graphic card.

Next, check the power source to see if you have at least 500 watt, or at least a 450 if you have a really good brand like corsair.  Don't try to plug in a video card on a 300 watt power source, which is what usually comes with most computers.

Next, check your monitor to see what kind of plug you have.  If it is using the really old VGA format, new video cards will not work.

Next, check the kind of fans the video card you buy is using.  Check the reviews to see how noisy it is.  This is a common oversight that people make, until they get stuck with a vacuum cleaner.

So once you get all the physical stuff sorted out, you can deal with the software part.  Which is pretty much what Serge said, again unless you got a crappy Gateway or E-machine where the bio doesn't have a function of disabling integrated video card.  Cheap brands are cheap for a reason after all.  They are made to barely work out of the box, and not intended for customization.  Stay away from Acer in general if you want a gaming machine.

Judging from the responses, everyone here is jealous that Toyota gets to pair up with Hatsune Miku?
Yeah, and I'm also jealous that I don't look like Justin Beiber.  :laughing
Is that a confession?

Miku is from a song making program name Vocaloid.  So it appears like a lot of Japanese men like the idea of making girl sing.

Anyway I just don't get the Miku thing.  I have to get used to hating her less because I just got a table on New York Anima Festival again, which unfortunately also means I have to be drawing Hatsune Miku if I want to break even.

Though I wonder if I can get away with drawing MLP in an Anime Fest, I much prefer that.

Also care to explain how a "replica" of killdozer has 10 wheels when the real one only had 6 wheels?
It is a "Overpowered Unrealistic Realistic Replica that also isn't a Replica and happens to be Underpowered"

Q Why are you doing this?
A   Because I have some other ideas for modding and this will get me   started. Also if you noticed the reps in DSL aren't that hard to beat.   Any experienced builder can easilly beat the replicas in DSL.
"Only experienced builders can easily beat the replicas" is complete blasphemy.  Therefore Garvin must make an AI pack even easier so even he beat them easily.  Ways to do that includes

1.  Not having any weapons
2.  Having enormous open chassis
3.  Having large number of motors but no batteries

This ensures any n00b who uses piglet for drive can still catch up and kill it with a battle axe.
